FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Just got the I'm here call.  Now starts the count down till he is done and we can think about the future more.  It will be a crazy next few years, but maybe I will like it.  I guess we won't know until we try it!!!!  Hope everyone the best.

I understand that LAst, and getting a handwritten note is nice.  But I am still living in the unknown, I have no idea when he is going to get his phone call, and I have no idea when I'm moving, and I have no idea WHERE I'm moving....lol  But I kind of enjoy living on the edge haha!

I just got my first phone call a little while ago, it was amazing!  I miss him so much!  He said the letters are coming soon for us, and to keep it up… I love being out of those 40’S!!!  39 more!!!   So Excited!   @Aveoamare… when are you going to be in the Great Lakes?? Feel free to email me!!

ugh, i am SO sorry to hear that :( i was at my parents house when i got his first phone call and after i was bawling my eyes out, of course, and my step-mom rudely asked why i was crying, shouln't i be happy? EVER HEARD OF HAPPY TEARS?!?!

ladies, i promise you can do it! 19 more days until i see my SAILOR! we're supposed to get a call monday, which i CANNOT wait for! i haven't heard my SRs voice in over two weeks, which was when i got the last call. i have been lucky enough to get 4-5 letters a week, which helps a LOT :) aveoamara, don't put up with people like that... and if it's friends saying it, they're not worth your time.
