I called my recruiter and got my husband's address!!!! :D He is in SHIP 3 DIV 080. Anyone in the same SHIP & DIV? I sent him all the letters and pics I saved up for him & gave him a $40 NEX gift card. I should get the form letter really soon :D

Hey Christine;

It is so hard to be on the silent end, and when you're waiting to hear from the one you love every second can feel like hours. But just remember that on the other end, the Navy keeps their sailors busy in a myriad of different ways - but that does not mean you aren't on his mind all of the time.

My sailor doesn't always have the luxury of getting a phone call, email or letter sent out, but he make sure I know how much he loves me whenever he can talk. One of the things that keeps me going is the knowledge that he's missing me too, and in that strange bittersweet way, we are together.

Hang in there.

Hey Ladies,

So I thought I would share some good news with all of you...I got my form letter on Friday and I was so greatful now I have his official PIR 2/11/11. he wrote a small note at the bottom of the letter which was really good.

Had a wonderfule weekend celebrating my brother in laws college graduation.

Finished all my Christmas shopping and have all my stuff wrapped too! Yeah for me.

Then I was sitting on the floor last night changing my niece's diaper and my mom got a call on her cell phone...what do you know it was my husband!

He said it was really cold, food sucked, was in a division with some young guys and was one of the few that was awarded a phone call home! He said he really missed home and cant wait to see us at graduation.

He asked that I remind you all to send lots of letters because they really do look forward to it all, regardless if you write a paragraph or three pages.

It was absolutly amazing to hear his voice and it really made my Christmas holiday that much better!

Hope everyone is doing well and see you all 2/11/11! Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you and your families!

To all: So I received my address yesterday from the recruiter and sent out two letters this morning. In the first envelope I sent the letter that I had written till Friday. Then I sent another letter in a different envelope and I put band aids as I know he is breaking in new shoes and we all know how uncomfortable that can be. I also went ahead and sent a calling card so just in case he gets a call home he will have it. I also sent a book of stamps with envelopes and paper so he can write and send letters when they are finally given the liberty to do so.

I have to say I am done with the first week but still have 8 more to go. Can't wait to get the formal letter and then a personal one from him. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary on November 28, 2010 so this being apart from him is new. I have had really good days because I keep myself busy but at night I cry myself to sleep and in the mornings driving to work i hear songs and cry. I know it will get easier and cant wait to hear his voice again! What I miss the most is my morning text from him telling me how much he loves me, to have a good day and that he will see me when he gets home...dont get those and that makes the days SUCK!

I dont know what it is like to be the mom and let go but I do know what it is like to be the wife. And the wife with a 6 year old boy who asks where his step dad is everyday...I would say his name but that is not allowed and I dont want him getting in trouble. That is the hard part...but I give twice the kisses and hugs and say who they are from to let him know that dad sends his love.

We'll guess I better get back to work and talk to you all real soon! Have a great rest of the afternoon ladies and keep your head up. We are on the emotional rollercoaster and they are on the physical rollercoaster is what I say! Good luck to all the recruits and if they can do we can do it

Hi Tricia welcome!!!!  Thanks superwoman I appreciate your response.  It is really hard for me to think about what is going to happen.  It is only 106 days until he leaves. I am so scared.  I can't imagine getting clothes back and no phone calls.  I can do this!!!  I tell myself that everyday.  I hope everyone all the best and have a great Christmas!!!!

But i just keep trying to keep my self busy. it is gonna be especially hard on the 22 which is my birthday and than a couple days later christmas but i know i can do this.
