Hey DiverWife...
I got the phone call about 1:30 this morning...this is what he said, "I arrived at PTC safely, you will receive my belongings and hear from me within three weeks. Talk to you later!" Click there went the call...I thought they get like three minutes but apparently not. I tried to say I love you as quick as possible but I dont think he heard. I wanted to give you a few ideas of how fast it will go for us...I know it may be said that they are not here with us for the holidays but just think a little over 2 weeks and it is CHristmas then the following week is New Years, after that we are already half way through this jouney of ours. The next month we will all be flying up there or driving to see them graduate. Just keep yourself busy and time will fly. I work full time, plus I have a 6 year old boy so he takes a lot of time. Then I also make tutu's and hair bows for little girls and diaper cakes for moms to be. So I know I will be busy over the next couple weeks doing those things to pass the time. Just keep your head and stay strong as they are being just as strong for us going through boot camp for the next 8 weeks. Good luck to all and we are all here for you if you need anything! Come on February!

Aprul-
My husband arrived in great lakes last night also. He flew out of LA and I got my last phone call last night. Did anyone else have a hard time hearing the few sentences they say because you were crying? I hope this time does go by fast.. it's so weird to live alone again. I just keep trying to think about graduation and after A school.

Hey all,
We'll my husband has landed safely in Chicago. Now I just wait for the phone call for him to tell me the same old scrit\pted thing they all say. Just wanted to let you all know it is very hard but I know it will be worth it in the end. It has been a very long day as I was up early and down at MEPS to watch him swear in and go through all of the medical, travel arrangements and then met him at the airport. I didnt get to see him long at the airport as he was the oldest who was shipping out from Houston so he was put in charge of making sure they all got on the bus, made sure they all got off the bus, got the boarding passes and through security and on the plane. While sitting here writing you I just got a phone call from him and he said that they are all safe, they just got some food and ate, checked in with the USO and now are waiting to leave to go to camp. If any of you had kids, husbands, wifes, or other relative from Houston leave today my husband is with them. He told me to tell you their all safe and getting prepared to be up for the next 40 hours to get through medical again, fitted for uniforms, dental check, and all the other necessities. If I get anymore phone calls from him I will keep everyone who had a ship date from Houston December 7, 2010 updated!
Now I am sitting here crying because it was a short phone call as he has to keep up with all the recruits.
When anyone gets any news about them if they could please post too. Also, when we get the PIR let me know the new forum so we all can keep in touch with everything that is going on.
Remember to keep your head up and be strong as they need our unconditional love and support. I am so happy to be on this site and keep in touch with everyone!
Just a quick FYI this time will seem right now like it is not going to fly by but it will. We only have a little over two weeks and it is Christmas then it will New Years, after that we are 4 weeks away from seeing the graudate. It is sure to be an amazing and I know we all cant wait.
Have a great night and talk to you all soon!

Superwoman and Chris. I was wondering the same things. My husband doesn't leave until March, but it will come faster than I really think. I wonder how he will manage his time between all of us and if he will miss us and be super excited to see us. I know we will be. I also have a 2 year old and am a stay at home mom well for right now anyway. Also I was wondering how does your husband handle you doing other things and sort of having a life without him. I think my husband would be jealous that I was doing "fun" things and he had to be gone. Not sure. Maybe they will teach him to get over it!!! LOL Well share your thoughts. Thank you so much have a great holiday!!!!!!!

Superwoman_ congrats to your Sailor and your family. I'm hoping that my husband will get to be in San Antonio for his A school because his old brother (a Marine) is living there. What does your husband do? Mine will be a sub.
