The Navy has moved us a couple of times. No problems.Or first 2 moves we did it our self.I don't mind the Navy doing the move.I don't have to pack anything or lift anything. Our stuff has been to Hawaii and back no problems there either. On our first dity move we had our car on a trailer and the trailer had a flat tire.It costed us money having to stay in a hotel and any extra day until the tire was repaired. We had small kids also.So it just depends on ur situation. If ur hubby wants to do it let him go find the boxes and go through the stuff and start packing. It is very time consuming.Good luck on your decision. We only made $600 off of our ditty move.We had a POS moving truck that sucked gas real bad.

Thank you both for the info. I see my hubby in 11 days at PIR. I'm sure he'll have all sorts of info for me... or not and we'll be figuring it out together. I was a very planned person before the Navy, and God is stretching me through this that I'm not in control. So I'm just trying to go with the flow of lack of knowledge. I know I'll get more info as time goes on. Thanks again

navywifebeth- the LES (leave and earnings statement) is available online but only your husband could tell you how to access it. They also mail out a paper copy to his home address I believe.

he's in basic right now so I'll just keep waiting til I hear from him. Thanks so much. I kept checking the mail, but nothing ever came. So I figured it was an internet thing.

They get their paystubs from mypay. You log into mypay with the passwords and username that they set it up with.

My husband is up at GL right now, but then has school in FL for about 6 months. We'll be staying home in AZ during all that. We figure we better get ready for times he is out to sea for 6 months at a time. We're looking forward to time together after PIR and our kids and I are taking a week down in FL. We won't know if we'll get to see him until we get down there, but it's worth the risk. We're just excited to get communication back. This time at Basic is hard for the kids and I, but we're practicing all our Navy family tricks. We've got a picture frame with "Daddy" and he recorded a good night message that the kids can hear every night. We also have Build a Bears with personal messages for the kids in them from Daddy. We also write him daily.

So far we have very little info on the next 6 months of his school and such, so I totally understand about going with the flow. People ask me daily where we'll be moving and when. I said March 2011 sounds like when we'll know something, until then we're just waiting! :)

Off topic, do any of you know how to get a paystub? So far each pay has been different and I'm wondering what to budget, and if I had a breakdown I could figure that out. Thanks! :)
