I got his box today but no address, just his clothes, shoes and phone. I'm no surprise.

Joann, I see that you work at Talbots near the Ruby Tuesday's. I live in Larchmont, right down the road.  Do you live close by?  Do you have a set schedule that I can drop by and meet you?

Hi Girls,

Wish I could attend the 2/10 event, but I have another outing that day.  My son is stationed in Norfolk with the Truman which will be deployed.  I could use the support from you.  If you are ever in Talbots in Mt. Laurel, I may be waiting on you.  I am a retired teacher, but work there part time.  Enjoy your February gathering!

Dawn, I was in San Diego in June to see the USS Makin Island come in.  I was with my Navy Mom Connection group.  None of us had sailors on the ship, we just wanted to 'experience' it and support the families on the pier. It was AMAZING!  My Corpsman son is a boots on the ground sailor, but since he is currently assigned to the USNS Comfort (Hospital ship) he will be deploying with them in April for a 5 month humanitarian mission. I really don't know (nor does he) if the have a departure or homecoming ceremony. But I will certainly be on the pier if they do!!  They are home based in Baltimore, but Joshua tells me that they may be leaving out of Miami.  More information to follow as I find out.  I can't wait to meet you on 2/10 at my "Navy Mom Friends of Beth" gathering in Mount Laurel. I hope you'll find a riding partner and respond YES on my Facebook event page.

Hello Regina,

Thank you for responding to my question. I guess I would ultimately need someone to send them out, but I was wondering if there was already someone heading up a group to collect the cards/ send the cards. I am not sure if the cards are supposed to go to my son or is there is a central place/person in the Navy who would receive and distribute them. I know of Operation Write Home, but isn't that Army? I want to do something for the Sailors, but not really sure of where to jump in.
Thanks again for any help you can give.
God Bless you and your family

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a blessed holiday season. I'm interested in finding someone within navy4moms that does greeting cards for the sailors. I have looked around the site but can't find anything presently. Would anyone here be familiar with a group for that? My son is presently in A school in Florida and I have a bunch of friends from youtube waiting to send cards out to the sailors.

Thanks for any help.

Teacher/Mom best wishes and good trip for your son to GL it's been awhile for my son since he was there over 2 years now but my biggest advice is once he starts bootcamp and you find out his Divsion Group search for it here hopefully someone will start one and you will bond (as I did) with other Moms who are in the same step as you and you can also look on here on our Jersey Group to pasts writings and you'll get a lot of info that's what I did and it was very helpful...you can also ask questions under a group called Great Lakes on there there is 2ladies Angie and Anti M they are actual Chiefs an very helpful you can also ask questions here we all check every so often...Welcome to our Group and Good Luck
