Just got phone call that school still has no power - but that if it comes on during the night we will get an early morning call that school is open ! We also have school thurs/fri - the convention has been cancelled for the FIRST time in 150+ years !
Our power just came back on and I am trying to catch up on laundry right now ! No Internet yet - I will work on getting THAT up and running tomorrow if I am home . . I also want to start looking at places to stay for PIR and flights also -
Also hope I receive an ACTUAL letter from Conor hopefully soon !
Talk to you all tomorrow ! Take care and be well and safe !

sjnita. I promised my parents I would take them to see my sister in Maryland Thurs through Sunday because we were off of school ( I work in an elementary school) now were not. And to not disappoint my parents or sister I will have to use my two personal days to go. My parents drive from PA to Nj then I get in their car (because its bigger) and go to Maryland from here. Don't get me wrong I really want to go too but would have loved to save my personal days of which we only get two!

Katz, my daughters school in Hammonton is taking away Presidents Day and Martin Luther Kings Day to make up for Thursday and Friday.

mary, we had to use the car charger on Monday, but that was it. I cannot imagine still having to that. Hope your power is on soon.

Our school is making use come in next Thursday and Friday since NJ Teachers Convention was canceled. They kids were supposed to be off the following Tuesday for Staff In Service but they now have to come in on that day too. I think they are worried if they don't make us come in then and come in spring break and we end up having snow days on top of Sandy days there will be no place to make up missing days!

Thank you all for the " welcomes " - I haven't been able to get on much due to no power and limited to using my phone - soon as I have power I will be able to check in more often !

I still have no power either ! But it is nothing compared to my friends in the shore town I grew up in during the summers - my prayers to all . Z

Been out of school ALL week ! Looks like I will still be having classes to teach in JULY at this rate
BTW - anyone traveling from NJ for 12/21 PIR ?
Forgive any typos - this iPhone screen is killing me - and I have to keep running out to car to charge it -

We're still out of power - glad to hear some people are getting it back.  We don't really have anything to complain about - My heart goes out to all those who lost houses and more, especially along the coast!  My prayers are with all those families!
