Good luck with your Biopsy, I hope all goes well.
A bit of humor will maybe cheer you up lynda, and anyone else who is sad these days,
I'm reading this book now, its called, "Confessions of a military wife" and its about this woman who is married to a marine and how she dealt with deployments. She's also a comedian so she really puts a funny spin on everything. At one point she is talking about getting an unexpected phone call from her husband and she describes her experience like this: You're excited so you talk over each other, you talk too fast, you're uncomftorable b/c you haven't spoken for so long, there are akward silences...She says speaking on the phone turns into an art form and it takes practice until they become fluid. She says it was like two elementary school children talking who have crushes on one another!
So I'm sitting there reading this, and I'm thinking OMG, does she know me?? This was EXACTLY what it was like speaking to my husband when I got that phone call last time, and I don't think it will be any different the next time he calls! I just thought that was the funniest thing ever. Really hit home!
No, I haven't googled it. Sometimes knowing less is more =) I figure I'll find things out when the time comes. The worst would be expecting something and getting something totally different!
Your son is going to be in Afghanistan for 3 years? Or just not in a ship for 3 years?
My husband is E3, he is going to school for culinary, and I have no idea where he will be for school or how long it will take. Ive heard different things. My husband is also signed for subs, so on top of culinary school he needs to go to sub school. When I find out whats going on with all that I'll let you guys know.
I do know that it is going to be chilly, I'm wearing a sleeveless dress but I did pick up a nice sweater to go over it. My outfit is for spring though so hopefully it won't be too cold. I heard it was 80 degrees there the other day but the weather has been all over the place, the next day it was only 50.
My in-laws will be going with me, but they are driving and I am taking a plane. My Grandmother was nice enough to buy me plane tickets after I panicked about a 15 hour car ride with my son. So I was very thankful for that gift.
I've been watching PIR videos on youtube, and it really is an amazing ceremony. I can't wait. And yes, I rush to the mailbox every Thursday, practically running down my mailman. This past week I got a letter Monday as well, they are mailing letters more often now, so that should make these next 3 weeks go a bit faster. I love hearing from my husband and the phone doesn't leave my side. I've only gotten 1 phone call but I nearly hit the ceiling when I saw the 847 area code!
