Beautiful Homecoming and he is someone special...

I made reservations tonight for PIR and the older gentlemen on the phone said to be sure to thank my son for his dedication to join the NAVY and to thank him for his service. I thought wow! my son is in the NAVY>>>>>maybe it just hit me!

Sorry I meant to say "That's so like her" not "That was so like her".

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I'm happy to say that my daughter Sara is home till the 1st of January, Mary won't be home this year.  First Christmas without her.  She says that she'll try and come home next year.  I think the hardest thing for me is that I can't just get in my car and go see her.  Sometimes I feel so helpless.  Japan had a earthquake yesterday.  I was crying and so worried about her, when she called she says "I guess I slept through it"  I coulden't help but laugh.  That was so like her.  Sara kept telling me she was ok, but just like all us moms we worry no matter what.  Sara and I cried the other day.  We both miss her terribly.

My son got off on Wed, Dec 8th.  I was able to keep in touch with him thorughout his travels via his cell phone, but got the official I am here call about 10:15 that night.  Hope to get his address today and his PIR later this week.  I know for sure this is the most snow and coldest he has ever been!!!  :)   My countdown has begun and our little NAVY tree is a rememberance of my son and other sailors out there away from their family.

It is really difficult for me to avoid moving to San Diego. I know he doesn't want me to move there but it lingers in the back of my mind.
