@Sandy, yes she is in boot, three weeks now, still no word, bummer. We moved here in 2001 from P'Cola. I loved that city, hows your sailor liking it? NAS or Corry Sta.?

Rats, no mail, no call. Clinging to the "No news  is good news" mantra.

Hi Sandy, I'm from Auburn.

Nope because we have 23 days to go.  It really does move faster than you realize. I would just love to know that he is healthy and strong.  But I just make this my daily belief and keep busy too.  I hope that we are both pleasantly surprised too. You should get your phone call very soon too.

Thanks Julie. Today is another day. I'm keeping my hopes high for a letter or phone call and keeping my cell phone close by at all times. 37 more days to go. It doesn't sound so bad when you say it like that does it?

Judy I still do not have a letter either.  I got a phone call on aug 5th.  My son shipped 7/13.  He said when he called that they were waiting for a mail person to be trained and then letters would be mailed.  I also have written everyday.  he said that they have all been receiving the mail. thank goodness for that.

I hate going to the mail box. I know it's only been 3 weeks. It just feels like years.

Joyce and Angie, thanks for commenting. I was starting to think no

one was out there. Between my hubby and I we get a letter out everyday. Still waiting to hear from her. I know she is o.k. (we are both prior Navy) but that doesn't really help the heart hurt. And you are soooo right Angie, it is WAY harder on us than it is them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer that she got the chance to write today and we will get a letter soon. Thanks for being there, it is much appreciated.

Hi Judy   Im from Rochester Welcome  Those letters will come  Just keep writing My son PIR 3/18/2011   He just finished A school in Pensacola Fl and actually is home until tomorrow   Then he is off to Ft Meade MD for the next 3 years    I asked my son recently what advice he would give to someone who was just going into bootcamp and he said just keep your mouth shut and its really not hard at all.   There is a lot of hurry up and wait but that's pretty much how the entire navy is.   I actually believe now that bootcamp is harder on us moms than it is on them   Hang in there these 8 weeks may seem like forever but in a few months they will seem to be very easy

ps  I got to Auburn frequently
