They are not posting so many pictures now. He developed jaundice about 24 hrs after he was released from the hospital. They were between the clinic on their base, and the hospital at the main base for a few days. He was sent home one night with a biliblanket and specific feeding instructions, which did bring his bilirubin levels back down a little. After they took him off the blanket the levels went back up again. Hopefully when they take him back for blood work in a few days, his levels will have fallen again. We feel so blessed that Chris was able to have the leave time right now. There's no way Liz could have done all that driving yet.

STG mom, welcome! Do try to make it to GSO in a few weeks! I hope everyone else is having a good day!

You can at least show us the phone pics, Mary! :-)

Grayce, I'm guessing your post was about flying to Chicago for the 11/8 PIR, right? Hope you have time to ride with Mary and meet with us on the 2nd!

Comment by Mary (Chris' mom) on October 1, 2013 at 2:01pm

Gonna try to. Grayce lives close to me so I have sent her a friend request to see if she wants to ride with me. I think it's the week before her sailor's PIR though so....Once Chris gets back from the boat maybe they can get better pictures. Right now she is taking pics with her phone and the resolution is not really print quality. Reminds me I'd better send daddy-o an email to pack his camera otherwise he will get too excited to remember.

How exciting, Mary! Will you get to come to Greensboro on Nov. 2nd? I want to see pictures!

Ok..................................3 weeks early, but Declan arrived at the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka safely. 10 fingers, 10 toes and a beautiful little face! Daddy will be back from the ship soon to meet him and hold him. Liz has sent pictures, and of course none of us can wait to meet him......hopefully in the spring! This weekend we get to Skype!!!! (She tried from the hospital but the connection was too slow for video).

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I found a cheaper flight rate from Southwest Airlines out of Raleigh/Durham airport than from Charlotte.  Was surprised, almost $300 less.  Little further to drive for us in the Foothills but not bad if you can find the right departure time.
