Most of us have been posting discussions segregated by ship and division, but maybe we can get to know each other based on our PIR date--we will all be in Great Lakes on the same weekend.

Yes it is,I almost make the mistake of buying a jacket;then I called this neighbor that she was raised in the US and she clarified that a jacket was to go to a baseball game, that I needed a long heavy coat...thank God I asked!!!

micsportmom - Thank you for the info on Chicago. We have not decided what to do yet, we were going to leave it up to our son when we get there but it is good to have suggestions! Thank You:)

micsportmom, It might have been me that mentioned about the pictures. I know I have posted it somewhere, but as for the pictures, I forgo when they are taken, but package A has more for the money. My son still has pictures to share. His dad got some and I have one at home and one at school.
The recruits order them and the fee is taken out of their pay check. They get them in time for PIR. I think you can order more after PIR. I didn't, but I saw a ot of parents in the area.

I just received a call from my son. He sounded tired but good. He has had a cold but is doing ok. He said that BS is on Jan 12. And he is looking forward to it. He is not worried at all and the gas chamber is next week. Yuck!
