Most of us have been posting discussions segregated by ship and division, but maybe we can get to know each other based on our PIR date--we will all be in Great Lakes on the same weekend.

Jenni - you are right there. I am so glad that my son has been upbeat. I really feel bad for the familes dealing with low emotions. :(

Thank you to everyone for eating birthday cake for Mike! Carrot cake is his favorite - he actually makes it from scratch when he can! I think that I will have to add that to the list of his favorite things to bring to him at PIR.
Kathleen - my heart just sinks when I think of you missing your sons call. (hugs).
I hope all of the injured and sick are doing better, I can't imagine how difficult that must be for the families, my heart and prayers truely go out to you.

I found this map of RTC referenced on another N4M discussion. The URL looks goofy, but it works.

Ben's wife - My son left on Nov. 14 and he spoke with the NFCU and they were able to make a transfer from his account with the NFCU from which he got paid on Dec. 15 to my account so I could pay his bills. the transfer did come through today. I don't know if that helps you out or not.

I feel better about all of us tonight! It seems like everyone is doing a little better! Baby steps and eventually all of the injured recuits will go to PIR - Eric may take a little longer but I feel that he will be there someday. You are all still in my prayers!

Remember they are in the military...no matter which branch I read that's a must....
I know that for my son all this is an adventure and since his teens he told me he will join the air force or navy.Thank God until now he is good, likes the food and told me he is doing his best to be in PIR because he says he wants to see his brother and me there.
