Most of us have been posting discussions segregated by ship and division, but maybe we can get to know each other based on our PIR date--we will all be in Great Lakes on the same weekend.

Lori, I am really bummed that I won't be able to meet you and have that drink at the Ramada. I really hope and pray that your son has a good recovery. I feel like he should take his time and rush the healing process or it may cause problems down the road. I am sure that he will be fine! I wonder if he is still there on Jan 15 if we would be able to stop by and see him, a vistor - even if it is a stranger might brighten his day.

Hi Lori. My husband had a total knee replacement Nov.23rd 1 week after our son Marshall left for bootcamp, and I'm proud to say he is walking now with a little help of a cane, next week he will be jogging!! well not yet.Eric is young and will heal alot quicker than us 50'ish and will continue his path. And Greenlo, Lori, take heart in knowing that the military-trained doctors are very good at orthopedic work--they see a lot--I would say Eric is in good hands. . . .if only you could be there too...let us know when you know.

Greenlo, I am so sorry to hear about your son! This confirms the saying: "No news is good news" I know we all wait for phone calls, but I would rather wait for a letter!
Speaking of which, I didn't get one yesterday! Maybe today I will have a nice long letter in my mail box!

This is the 1st time my son see and feel a freezing cold because we are from PR and here is like summer all year long...
I hope he is dealing with that well;he knew about the area,I looked for it in the compu and what I have seen in CNN news....
