Most of us have been posting discussions segregated by ship and division, but maybe we can get to know each other based on our PIR date--we will all be in Great Lakes on the same weekend.

He was off all right They yanked his wisdoms Wed. before Thanksgiving. His letter was still very up beat and excited, but very sore and hungry. I have also booked our Hotel at the Ramada. I GOT A LETTER! My first one. I am so excited. He sounds so good. The letter was 11 pages long. I can't believe it. I was hoping for at least a half a page. He said that writing helped him. But he did say that his divison is not working so well together. But he sounded so good! Yeah! I feel so much better. I was really getting down.

Fed Ex just delivered our box. No surprises in it. . . except the rolled up jeans. I asked my son about that and he said it was the first thing they were ordered to do. He didn't think it had anything to do with the shoe-sizing machine, maybe just a test of instant obedience.

I have not made my reservations yet but I'm guessing that Ramada Inn is the one to go with.
I told my son that I would send him a bigger envelope once a week so he could send back whatever letters and cards he wanted that way he did not have to throw them away.

I am with you. my son left on the 16th also and I am just dying to get a letter or call or something. Although reading about some of the letters that moms have received I am now scared! My heart and prayers go out to all that have received sad letters!

Jodia, I hate driving, but I did need one. I flew into Milwaukee. Although there are shuttles from Ohare, there are none from Milwaukee. It is in Wisconson, not IL.
Also, I stayed in the Navy Laodge, agian, no shuttle to PIR. I used less than a tank of gas.
Cindy, go to: www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/contact_recruit.asp
It hass the correct mailing address for all the ships.
