Most of us have been posting discussions segregated by ship and division, but maybe we can get to know each other based on our PIR date--we will all be in Great Lakes on the same weekend.

Stephanie1591, The hotels in the area are wonderful. I stayed at the Navy Lodge for my first PIR and I just got home today from my second one. I stayed in the Residence Suites. Both hotels were good.
I am from Dallas, and don't like to drive, so I flew to Milwaukee.
The PIR starts at about 9:00 AM, but you need to get there before 7:30 to ensure you go through security and can get a good seat. Most hotels offer a shuttle to and from the PIR for a small fee per person. I drove the first time, but didn't want to drive in all the traffic and the snow, so I took the shuttle.
If you have not yet made your hotel reservation, you might want to do that as soon as possible. Most hotels fill up for PIR.
Good luck, and please ask if you have any questions. Someone will have the answer!

Thanks to those who waved and sent hugs to our boys marching. I'm sure they felt it.
Should we wait on base for our sailors or wait for them to call? I am assuming they are able to use the phones on base to call us right? Are we able to go to the NEX store while we are on base?

When I go back on base tomorrow, I will look for more recruits! I will give them all a hug from ya'll!
