To kaicat.  Absolutely visit or attend as much as you can.  We are 80 in Fl. We could not attend this PowerSchool and found out Thursday, the 3rd, gs had something to complete but he was still scheduled fo continue at BS. (Believe they start 5/15). Still don’t know if he was allowed to be in program today.  So God is good.  They say Rickover was “against the tide” and look what he accomplished.  I’ve seen the pictures of these Nukes at attention in the Whites, and you know they all are our future, and present, heroes regardless of their names.  All volunteers whose values have been instilled by great upbringing and are being honed and polished by “ The needs of the Navy”

God Bless them all!

Happy Birthday Chipmunk!

Kaicat, we went to A school graduation and loved it. It's a small ceremony and marks another successful step in the pipeline. We went on a Thursday, spent that evening with our Nuke then the rest of the weekend too. If I'd have held out for power school graduation I'd have missed out as hers was cancelled due to a hurricane. I say, go as often as you can

BZ to all the graduates today, whether it was PIR, A school, Power School or Prototype.  Another accomplishment down!

ProudOfK - glad you had a nice time - were you able to get pictures for Sgtsixpack?

kai cat - I think we'll be able to get the sheds/garage emptied out in time.  I feel like most of it my mom said is going to the "junk" man.  She just needs to find a junk man to come haul it away lol!  I keep telling myself we'll have (hopefully) 30 days once it goes in to escrow.  Then we hurry up & get it done.  My mom hasn't been feeling well this week so I'm not sure if we're going to do much this weekend - might get a little break.

We went for A school graduation - flew in on Thursday and spent until Monday with B.  Then he took off for Florida with some of his buddies for a week and we flew home.  We had fun with him for the long weekend.

Hi Everyone! I need some advice/information and of course this is the place to get it :)

My son told me the date of A school graduation, but he said I probably shouldn't come for that.  He said I would just get to see him for like half a day and it wasn't very good.

He recommended we go in the summer so we can spend a whole weekend with him and he can stay off base at a beachfront hotel with us.

What do you all think? What is the schedule like during A school graduation.  I could always try to go in the summer and for graduation

Thanks ladies

B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN - LOL - I will stick with the occasional Tornado and week long power outages due to ice/snow storms VS earthquakes/hurricanes/wildfires/mudslides!  I guess it's all what your used to?

Will you have your mom's garage/shed cleaned out in time?

NancyJo (CVN70) - I can't imagine what you and your children are going through.  I just have you in my thoughts.

Kbpoohbear - My son's first choice was ET,  which he got - but it is all "needs of the navy" LOL :) I have also read that is is based on ASVAB score (like what Danny's Dad said) so not really sure.

BlancheMarie - LOL! I offered blankets, mattress pad, clothes to my son first thing at GC - but what did he need first - PS4 and TV! LOL and unlimited phone data plan!  And I call him an Alien also :) He started telling us when he was around 4 or 5 years old that he WAS an alien! Seems to fit right in!

B'sNukeMom your picture was very fitting. The Chaplin at Power School grad today that did the benediction first commented that this was the Star Wars class and then said "May the fourth be with you"  Power School grad was awesome and the weather was perfect!

Pacnwwoman, I've never been to Keeneland but have driven by there. It looks beautiful!

Comment by PacNWmom on May 4, 2018 at 3:16pm

My brother married a girl from Lexington KY. As part of their pre-wedding festivities we went to Keeneland (where part of Seabiscuit was filmed) to watch the races. It was freezing cold, but tons of fun. What a beautiful place!
