While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Dittersmom yes having many roommates helps offset rent. Boywondersmom I don't think our boys are on same shift my son is looking with only one other sailor if your son is looking for 2 more maybe we should hook or 2 boys up. Pm me if he's interested and what area he's looking at.

He passed his oral boards yesterday, and is now a qualified nuclear electrician! I can't wait to have boots in the house soon!

THe advice and support is unbelievable. I hope to pay it forward later:). My SR is graduating this Friday...we were just slammed with snow and now I am hearing more may be on the way. I am hoping to get out of here before it hits...driving back may be interesting:).

Comment by Lilo54 on January 24, 2016 at 6:40pm: TwelveTwentyFour - There are three types of nukes at NNPTC - an MM - machinists mate, ET - Electricians Mate and EM - Electronics mate. They will be trained to work on the nuclear propulsion system. There is a file to the right under Navy Nuclear Field Program Description that will help. Your SR will have 3 months of training in A school and will become a Petty Officer 3rd class and as my son says - "get their crows". Then Power School is 6 months and then another six months for Prototype. My son is an MM on hold for prototype. It will be challenging for both of you but this group is a great place for information and support. Congratulations to your SR. Mine graduated last year on 1/23/15. The year has gone by very fast. Hope you get to go to graduation. Its awesome and bring tissues!!! Very proud moment for sure!
