BoyWonderMom, sorry your guy didn't pass first time, mine did say he was super nervous at the start but managed to calm down once it got going. His boat isn't graduating this Friday either. So I guess they'll graduate together next month.

BoyWonderMom - the good thing is they will work with him to get him ready to re-board.  The goal now is to get his confidence up - remind him that he's made it this far - he knows the info....he just needs to find a way to keep himself calm when he's testing. (Easy for me to say, right!).  I have faith in him.  Hugs to you momma and extra prayers for him!

Lilo 54, I live 10 minutes from Selma, if you should need anything feel free to contact me. My son is at GC, starting A school. So if your son or your family were to need anything, I can be there in no time. Selma is pretty rough, a lot of crime in that area of the bus station. Just a heads up!

Congratulations Dinky! So happy for you! Now you can breath and celebrate :)
My son didn't pass his oral boards Saturday so he's got to board again in about a week or so. He was pretty frustrated and shaken but positive. So no grad ceremony this Friday. There's a few taking boards again, at least he just takes two sections he missed not the whole thing.
Again congrats, to your sailor!

J's/S'smom - Thanks for the reminder about OPSEC.  I saw that article earlier today - kind of scary the length's that the bad guys will go to in order to cause harm....

I saw this Dr Seuss poem - cute little reminder!

My son is still at Great Lakes but I was excited to let you all know he got the rate he wanted, ET!!!

We get to see our son next weekend.  We are meeting him in Raleigh (he is taking the train from N. Charleston to Selma, NC -35 min from Raleigh since there is no direct route).  My husband is driving his car down and I am following in my car.  His grandmother lives in  a senior home in Raleigh so we will visit her too.  I had to give my sailor an itinerary so he could get his trip approved - places traveled, hotel we are staying in, etc..  Do, they have to do this every time they go away for the weekend?  Its less than 350 miles.  Anyway, I complied and emailed him his ticket, the train info, our hotel and mapquested his return trip to Goose Creek on Sunday when he drives back to the base.  It brought back memories when I was an admin assistant working for a defense contractor!!!!   I'm sure whoever approves my sailor's weekend will be impressed with my handy-work (LOL)!  Can't wait to see him.  He is currently in MM A-school and working hard!  A nice weekend break will do him good!
