Nuke wife she will go to SC the day after PIR. Once in SC she will have to phase up in stages with progressive privileges. Phase 1 I believe they get to leave base on weekend days in uniform with buddies. Phase 2 they get to wear civvies. and so on. I do not believe she will get to live with you during A school, maybe not thru power school also, Maybe she will during proto type. Correct me if any of you know different.

Shoula Don't ask me. My son went to Goose Creek last August and I still haven't been there yet. I am planning on going Aug. 1 for graduation. Perhaps some of the other Moms could answer your question.

Hey ladies can someone help me?? my wife is at bootcamp rite now PIR5/23/14. she is a nuke and will be going to GC, SC also I have a question about the process when will she leave and go there? when will her "househunting" begin? and is it ok that I have found housing already? if someone out their knows well, how this will go for us please respond or we can exchange numbers?

I think of red friday as Remember Enlisted and Deployed. That takes in all service members.

I think that the newbies Phase 1 can go off base on weekends only in uniform with buddies.

I will chime in at 53, with a 23 yr old, married Nuke and a Sonar Tech that just posted a pic of me on Instagram commenting, "I have the coolest Mom ever. Sometimes people think she is my GF! Hmmmm, I have gotten proofed a few times when we go out and he thinks its funny..; )

CO-Twin and NCNarrator, stay strong, think positively. Both of you have shown a deal of resilience - will keep you in my prayers.

CO-Twin and NCNarrator, I wish the best for both of you.  Stay well.

2SailorMom, I have 2 nukes in GC right now, too, brother and sister.  They are also very close, and enjoy hanging out with each other when they can.  Sometimes it is hard through the week because their schedules are different, but they try to spend a lot of time with each other on the weekends.  It is pretty cool that they are in it together.  They went to BC and PIRd together, too.

I think I saw some of you talking about A school graduation?  We went down to GC last weekend to watch our daughter's graduation.  It was a small ceremony, but very nice.  It takes place in the Rickover.  You get to meet the SLPOs and some of the instructors.  There is also a speaker who offers a few thoughts, and the Captain says a few words, too.  They call out the sailor's names, and they cross a stage and get a certificate.  It is not long, as they are all ready for Leave at that point!   The staff is very willing to pose for photos (much to my sailor's dismay! lol), and they were very accommodating in all ways.  I was glad we could go.

Don't forget to look for your Challenge coins, while you are there, if you are into that sort of thing.

Friday evening, we had the distinct honor and privilege to have some of the kids friends (I know one of them has a mom here in this group) over for dinner and just to hang out and visit.  We had an absolute blast!  Imagine playing  "Catchphrase" with a bunch of Nukes.  The clues they gave...and the stories they told...my sides still ache from laughing so hard.  :-)  They are a great group of kids, and we were delighted to meet them.  Great memories...

Thanks William in Nashua for the mt information. My son did say they will split and he will wait an extra week to join another group for part 5.
