While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet) on July 18, 2013 at 3:03pm: Mommamac - I found out about Blue Star Mom's from a mom in my Inland Empire Group but you can go to www.bluestarmothers.org and find a chapter in your area. It's a national organization and the membership fees are $20. My mom went with me too - she can't be a "Blue Star Mom" but she can be an "associate". There was no membership fee for her.

I really would like to help with the care packages at Christmas. Love the pictures you posted. My guys are all over 6'5 and the hubby is 6'7 so I'm used to looking up all the time. Glad to hear the boys are getting back in the swing of things.

They have meetings once a month and do various things in and around the community for our military personnel. They even taught me how to crochet so I am working on a scarf that will be included in care packages that they send overseas at Christmas time. I'm really hoping I can manage to get more than one done!

Sunshine - so far power school is going well but it's still pretty early to tell! I do know he was happy to start back to school after having about 2 1/2 months off.

It's nice to meet with other Navy mom's and talk about our sailors! Here's a picture from our lunch we just had on Saturday.

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on July 18, 2013 at 12:42am: Got a call from my son. He said so far the material is not that hard, just a massive amount to absorb. He is studying or in class 15-18 hours a day. He runs early then showers befor class.
