While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by MN Mom of MM on March 12, 2012 at 10:54am: I have so much fun with the sun catchers I make, and my desire is to see one hanging in a sunny window in every home in MN.....So if I would put a limit on # of prizes available,,,, lets say 10 are available. That way if we only use 3 or 4 or 5 this time, we coulld have some left for another contest. The thing is they may not all be exactly the same design, but they would all be Navy and Gold and a 3 in suncatcher. I am excited to see where in the country I will send to.

Comment by Pat on March 12, 2012 at 6:45am: Prototype...definately needs of the Navy, as to where the sailors go. A while back they had a problem at NY and most of the sailors were staying in GC...then once NY was back in motion and the backlog of sailors cleared, then more were sent to NY than stayed in GC.

There are some changes coming...they will be updating the prototype units the sailors train on sometime in the 'near' future. I believe that I read the plan was to update GC first, then NY. If this is the case, I believe that more of the sailors will go to NY during the change-over at GC, then more will stay at GC while the change is made in NY.

Again...needs of the Navy. When my son was in school in GC...much like the MM,EM,ET choice list in boot camp...his class was asked to list their personal preference for prototype...the majority of his class went to NY. He stayed in GC. Same thing happened for east coast/west coast active service.

Encourage your sailor to always be the best they can/do the best they can!
