MN Mom, if our sons ARE roommates (how funny), we'll have to descend upon that bucolic log cabin for a moms' weekend! In exchange for cooking the 5 guys some good meals, we can use the pool table and kayaks!!

Just in the last couple days, my sailor has told us he will leave SC and have 7 days to move and report in New York.  Now my prayers are for God's helping him get both his Harley and vehicle with his stuff to where he needs to be.

Connie...He told me he is renting a fully furnished 5 bedroom house with 4 others. He didn't say anything about amenities like your son has.  OK now to start planning a NY trip.

GodBlessAmerica - my son is in A school right now in Goose Creek.  They can  drive and can stay overnight off base in phase II, which is week 4 of classes.  Phase III is week 8 of classes. Whether or not they phase up depends on whether they meet all the criteria.

A School Graduation questions - All that Dotsy said held true at Sept '11 A School Grad. Very informal in terms of pomp & circumstance, but most guests dressed nicely for the very reason she mentioned - Navy personnel were in their dress uniforms. One of the nicest things about the "laid-backness" (I think I just made up a word!) of A School Grad is that they let you walk right up to the stage and take pictures as your Sailor is walking across the stage. Ours was very early in the alphabet and we didn't quite have the nerve to be the first ones, but many after us did once folks caught on. Then they gave you plenty of time afterwards to stage the pictures and the officers were gracious to pose with the graduates. Have a blast at graduation! So glad you can go. It's nice to be able to cheer on those whose families can't be there b/c of distance, schedules, or other constraints.

Counting down the days til I get to see my son; he'll stop home over Easter weekend on his way to report to Ballston Spa for prototype. He and 4 other guys have rented a log cabin, 8 miles from Saratoga, 8 miles from the reactor site. Uh-mazing: it's on a lake, rental incl. kayaks, dirt bikes, shooting range, pool table, 2 kitchens, 5 BR, mechanics bay ... hubby wants to visit often, sounds like a guy's paradise!

Meanwhile, had  3 foals in the last 24 hours. Two fillies and a colt. Must be the full moon...

MM3 Proud Momma - I also have the same questions!  I asked my son about A school graduation - same thing, not much information and I hate to bug him as I know he has alot on his plate.  My younger son, also age 9,  will be attending and would also like to wear his Navy Camo Uniform?????  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Ladies, I'm so overwhelmed here, I'm not sure where to go. I haven't been part of N4M's on while. But I'm coming back to you for guidance. My son is in Charleston, about to graduate his A-school. I have LOTS of questions!! 1) where do we go? My son isn't giving us much details, so when we get there, I have no clue where to go. 2) my son gave his little brother an official navy camo print (is that the right phrase?) uniform for Christmas. He would love to wear it to his big brothers' A-school graduation. What is the protocol for that? Can a 9 year old minor wear that do a graduation like this? 3) My son said no electronics on base. Does that mean that we can't have digital camera's for picture taking? What about cell phones? I have 2 minors that I want to have cell phones attached to thier hips in the event that we get separated. 4) My son hasn't even given us an address to a gate or anything as to where we are supposed to go for A-school graduation. If he's not communicating with me, where I am supposed to find out this information? Sheesh, I'm one frazzled momma over here!!!!! Please help!!!

I was also just thinking about where William has been?

uffda6: I am not sure but I don't think they can promise BS for Prototype, it seems more of the ET's go there and the MM's stay in GC. I wouldn't be surprised if your recruiter said BS because you have family there. Just my 2 cents.
