My son had the MRI on his ankle today.   Of course he hasn't seen the doctor yet.  That will probably be another appointment next week or the week after I would think.  He said he saw his file and read that they put on it "ATFL  that they think is either comletely torn or stretched out. Talo crural joint is also mentioned."   I do not know what any of that means so will be trying to research it.  Anyone know?  He has the appt. about his kidney next week.

And southwest is the only one who lets you change your flights for free and only pay the difference in the fare.  And if you have to cancel you can still use the amount of the flights toward another flight within a year.

nicole- The only airline that offers free checked baggage for non military is Southwest. Everyone else charges.
Comment by nicole~a sailors girl(: on August 12, 2011 at 4:26pm

Even non military- 1 bag through delta is supposed to be checked free of charge so long as it's within the weight limits.

texasmom - Thanks!  Good luck to your son, and I am sure you will get the good news from your son next Tuesday that is  when  they find out  they passed A school and are just waiting to graduate.

On a related note I called my son who is now  at the airport, he is flying Delta and learned they had charged him $25 to check one piece of luggage!   Of course he is traveling in uniform.  The ticket counter said since he was not travelling "on orders" he had to pay.  However, Delta recently changed this policy a few months back because of the brouhaha about soldiers returning from Afghanistan getting charged to check their weapons.   The new policy is:  active duty service members who are travelling on personal business now get 2 checked bags free of charge.   He had already paid and gone through security checkpoint and would not go back through, and he had the receipt so I said hold onto the receipt.

I called Delta reservations and explained the situation which the Delta reservations already knew the new policy and knew a mistake had been made, but apparently the ticket counter at CHS did not get the word yet.  So, heads up to anyone flying today.   The Delta agent on the phone was very polite and instantly reversed the $25 luggage fee while I was still on the phone which is good.

Here's that Delta luggage policy  again if anyone still needs it.

PollyAnna, one of his sisters calls my son a genius b/c he graduated high school with all As and Bs and rarely cracked a book. He had no ambition, was content with getting by doing, guess what, washing dishes! Wow, what are the chances!  Anyway, keep your head up. Time is a great leveler.  A questionable gf (I'm being kind here) will probably eventually go away but family is forever and someday he will need you.

J's mom -  Of the original 24 students in class 1122T,  2 of those original students who did not graduate today with their class were rolled back to a later class for non-academic reasons, so those 2 should graduate next week with class 1123T.    I do not know what is typical.

NancyJo - I do have the flag.  Got it during bootcamp. It's hanging in the front window.

All of us with kids in the service can get a blue star flag. I have one and my sailor's dad has one too.  It's a real cool symbol that we are military. I can't remember where I got the flag but it was online and it was free.
