While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I understand it isn't granted to everyone, but I haven't seen any information on how they go about applying/requesting it.

It never occurred to me we could have asked our sons. That would have counted for two. I was also the one that said earlier that my son had no interest whatsoever in whatever I talk about.

I had told him before about how one mom had said her son was working a t Patriot Point and has to pay for his own gas and parking. So then he sat by someone who is doing it and asked about it. He said not working every day, but definately has to pay own gas and parking. then he said "but I have heard there are some jobs that are 5 days a week, all day."

Mine doesn't have much time right now for sure. I was just curious, not saying your son wasn't going every day, but kind of wanted to know so my son knows there are some doing more and some doing less, just in case he gets the more. ha.

Comment by clarkedu (MM Nuke Prototype) on August 10, 2011 at 7:25pm: I saw some conversation about Thanksgiving, and questions occur to me. Do all the Sailors get leave for some days during the week of Thanksgiving? My son said that his A School classes start August 24th. I don't really know how that affects opportunities for leave. I have a timeshare in Myrtle Beach reserved for the entire Thanksgiving week and wonder if my son will be able to stay with us there. Is there any way to know?
