Welcome back Dor!  Glad you had a great time.

Start collecting any Pepsi power votes from specially marked bottles and cases of cans.  May start voting around July for our MASH hospital unit.

Anyone in class 1135?  Started class yesterday?

It would be much easier for our family to visit if my son attends prototype in Ballston Spa, NY since it is 150 miles from our house versus 1,000 miles to Goose Creek, SC.   I think he likes Goose Creek  and might prefer it down there though.  Not that they have any choice in the matter Lol.

Yeah, he always says "let's think of things in terms of deployment" he has never been one to rush into anything either. Likes to take things slow. Took him over 9 months before he first said I love you!! We just celebrated 2 years last week. He is very logical and likes to think things out before he makes a decision on something. Like I said though it wont be till next spring when we have to make this decision and things could change by then. Worst case I told him I would move back home with my parents in Maryland that way I would be half the distance to NY than if I stayed in SC. and it would save me money so that I could go with him to his first station and it would be more worth it. That is one thing we are sure about, that I am going with him there with him no matter what

Boy, Andi6109, that's a tough one.  I can see both sides.  I guess what I'm thinking is that when he goes to sea, you have no choice but to be apart.  As long as he is state-side, you have a choice.  I think I might grab as much time together as I could.  Of course, you have quite a while to think it over.  There is a lot to consider.

I am really hoping that my boyfriend has prototype in SC. He is still in A school and will graduate power school feb/march of next year (obviously there is no set date yet but that is the estimated time frame). I moved to SC last month to be closer to him and yes I have never been to NY and would love to go, but he doesnt want me to move up there with him. He said "IF i get NY, it's only 6 months, it would be like a mini deployment. more time to get used to the long times apart. you can take off work maybe half way thru and fly up for a visit but I don't want you moving just for 6months only to move again when I get my first station" It was sweet of him to think of me in that way, but kind of a bummer at the same time to hear. Hence why next spring I am really rooting for him to stay in GC haha

My son is hoping for NY because my daughter and her family lives only about 45 minutes from the training facility. On the other hand, in January and February the weather in SC sure beats NY!

My daughter and niece (ages 16 and17)  are hoping.. no, cheering for our sailor to complete prototype at NY.   They want to visit NYC and all the shopping.    I keep telling them the Navy has final say but they think they should have some say.  lol.

Quiltblue - I know you're winging your way to GC, but wanted you to know that my son, EM, finally classed up.  I got his phone call last night - he starts classes Monday, June 13th.  He's been in INDOC since 5/14.

Hapsmolmr - I wonder if our boys will be in the same class!  I saw yours said June 27th, but I wonder if they'll end up together.  Anyway, that's it for now.  Talk to you all later.

Congrats to all A school graduates and comp passers!!  It's exciting to hear (read) the good things happening :)

I laughed at how the Nukes were described on Carriers.  Sounds like they live in their own little world with maybe less drama than the rest of the ship.  But then, having survived Nuke Schools, I think they are more mature than the rest.  I think about the pregnant GF and the drinking girl.  Can't imagine calling home from a ship.

Think I'll go watch another episode before bed...night all.
