Nice dream Michimom!  It's raining here too so I am off to the grocery store instead of the farmers market :(  All of our softball games are cancelled for today, so I actually have a whole day at home - gonna make me some cake balls!  My dream car would be some type of luxury-loaded SUV.  I'm tired of the banged up, rusty minivan, but too practical to get rid of it since it still runs.  Sure hope it makes the drive from MN to Charleston in 6 weeks!

my son (ET) posted a link on fb to the end of the world today/rapture.  My comment on fb was.."that's a bummer, since Sunday is our 30th anniversary!  Take care of Dad when I'm gone!"  lol

Emily, hope everything works out great for graduation!  Maddie, no time was mentioned in the article I read, so we're going out for Dim Sum at 1100, and on a date to see the new pirates movie tonight...Dor, good luck finding your dream vehicle and cograts on the new job, and elizabeth, maybe he's kidding...? like when my son called after Battlestations and said he didn't make it and was being asmoed for a week.  Are u guys driving to graduation?  maybe he could drive home with you, and fly back to save some money.???

I've been checking out Groupon (nothing good lately), but I'll have to check out those other sites since we'll be in GC next weekend.  Woo hoo!  Thanks, all, for the info.

Can I have two Dream Cars?  You know--the fun, 2-seater convertible AND the practical one?  As long as we're dreaming.  Can I have a chauffeur, too, for when I don't feel like driving?  And, as long as we're dreaming, I want a new house, a perfect body, new wardrobe, hubby who waits on me, children who don't roll their eyes at me,  . . . . LOL

Penny- I had the same thought when I read Elizabeth's post. He could always surprise you. And he could always change his mind yet. :)

Dream Car ... is a TRUCK. Loud 'n' proud F350 dually with a 5th-wheel hitch for the horse trailer, Cummins turbo diesel and lotsa running lights. Sigh ... I drive an F250 stripped down (vinyl seats, roll-down windows, no CD player, no console, just a good old farm truck). Oh well, it's paid for, has no dents ('cept for a wrinkle in the tailgate, hubby's fault), and the air works great.

I hope Penny's right, Elizabeth! That is almost 2 weeks leave.... I'm sure it would be so nice for him to be home with family and friends during that time.

Elizabeth, maybe he will surprise you.  I've heard stories of others that have been told the same.  Not trying to get your hopes up, but .... stranger things have happened.

Emily, who knows if he's serious.  Maybe it's emotional blackmail to see if I will offer to pay. (I'm not going to, I'm not getting a big bonus.)  I guess he would stay there and hang out with his friends since his girlfriend will be in Germany.
Comment by Emily-aaronsgirl11 on May 20, 2011 at 11:38pm

Oh, thanks for the advice, Marybeth! :)

elizabeth- are you serious!? He'll get at least a 10 day leave, won't he? What's he going to do instead??

Comment by elizabeth77(USS SAN FRANCISCO) on May 20, 2011 at 11:18pm
Did not get my good news tonight.  I called son to ask him about his leave after Power School.  He said he decided not to come home.  Said he would see us at graduation and it was too much $ to come home!  Now he decides to be a tight wad!  Did not make for a good Friday night.  :(
