Anyone else's son graduating A-school this Friday the 20th?  Can't wait for my boy to get home for 10 days.  Boy am I gonna be cooking up some good chow for him. All his favorites!!!  He'll probably gain 10lbs in 10 days!

Let's see Dor, so many kitchen utensils to choose from.  I do love my Pampered Chef garlic press and food chopper.  Of course they don't have to be Pampered Chef, but I just happened to have those ones.

Well, Steven got his orders & even though he is a sub vol he is going to the John C Stennis, he's taking it well - knows everything happens for a reason but it was still unexpected.  Guess I wont be joining sub moms & gotta find my new group :(.

And now for something completely different: Had a potluck for work today & I brought Strawberry Margarita Cake .

Diana, I am sorry to hear about your son being dropped from the nuclear program at Captain's Mast.  Please let us know where he winds up.   Had he already graduated  A School when it happened?  In that case he will still be a MM just not a nuke.

My family  will be leaving this Wednesday and driving from New Hampshire to Goose Creek to deliver my son's car.  His class just completed the halfway mark of A school (he is an ET student).  This will be the first we have seen him in five months.  I hope to meet some of his friends too while we are down there.

Nothing to add here in the cake balls department Lol.

Mammjo..too funny!  I never even saw the irony when I wrote that sentence.  I just hate the way the chicken starts to cook somewhat when you defrost it that way.  I had to go back to my comment to see see if I had really used that term.  :)
Comment by mommajo on May 16, 2011 at 10:00am

Wow, lots happens in a day!

bobbysmom-ordered it on line and received it in Wyoming in 6 days.

elizabeth77~you hate to "nuke" to defrost.  I had grown so accustomed to nukes being our kids that I had to reread that statement slowly.  LOL

Will have to look at the Nuke moms with balls when I get home tonight; something to look forward too  :)

Have a great Monday!

Sharon - I just checked out Sym's Chocolate.  You make some great stuff.  Now I'm getting the itch to try some more new things.  I do those pretzel rods and choc. covered strawberries like that, but only for special occassions.  Of course you sell them and all we'd do is eat them.  Hmmmmmmm, I am going to have to start going to the gym every day I think.

Elizabeth, ya, for us we have the salmon burgers a lot.  They come in a big tube bag of about 16 burgers, from Costco, so we have them around a lot.  I actually use them in salads to add protein too, so they are kind of standard around here.  But I hadn't used any in a couple months.  Sweet potato fries, well, ya, we got into them a while back.  I found another big back in the deep freeze so had to start using them.  i did make up a big meat loaf too, for tomorrow night, so dinner will be easy then.
