We're one big family within the Navy family, huh?  Nice.  :)

kendrasue, I sent you a message.  My son is looking for a car--he graduates power school in August, so he'd need one by then (but he'd like one before then, ha ha).

Over 1,500 groups on Navy 4 Moms and Nuke Mom's is the 4th largest with 1400 members.

Must go along with the "Being a Nuke Mom is hard work" theme :)

I just noticed we have 1400 Nuke Mom members as of today. Cool. That's a big family.

Dor- My brother made the drive out to Bangor in the fall of '08. He's an MT on the Louisiana. But he made the trip from Ohio-- He stopped in MO to visit my sister and her kiddos and in Colorado to see an old friend. Then he made the straight shot to WA. He made it to Idaho before his poor truck broke down. Ooops! haha

maybe I was a truck driver in a previous life.  Ha, so not in my character.

mommajo - yes, it was an adventure to remember.  I just love doing stuff like that.  Guess that does make me adventurous heebsmom.  I would have done it all alone if I had to.  I just love getting out on the road.

Dana~ You came right thru my town on the WY side of the Little Bighorn...If I would have known you could have had a room for the night.

Kat~Glad your trip was an adventure to remember.

Have a great night, all!

He came home for his 30+ days leave. He had to wiegt his car and trailer with his stuff and thought it had to be near his base so we just went that way. He wanted to see a few things along the way, Niagra Falls, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, but we skipped a few at the end as he wanted to get home by today. It's his 24th birthday and his older brother has two softball games tonight he wanted to see. Since I left last Wed at 4 am to get to airport to fly to NY I was happy to get home although an extra day on the road would have been OK. We would have had to stop early and spend the night to see Yellowstone ( it was quite out of our way) so opted instead to stop by Little Bighorn Battlefield as it was right on I90 interstate. Trip was great, saw parts of USA I never have seen and weather while cold was great. After he reports to Bremerton and the Nimitz we will take whatever goods he can have to him later next month or so. He doesn't yet know where he will have to live. (barracks, barge or if full, in an apt.) Another road trip, yeah! Will get to really see the Seattle area. I love the Navy LOL.

I was just thinking about you and your road trip with your sailor, Dana! Glad to hear it went well and you are home safe and sound. Did you leave your sailor in WA or did he come home with you?
