Mine just asked me if I would ship him his bike. Dude! ;)

Yeah that's true. :)
Aaron wouldn't really use a Netflix... I don't wanna say too much and get him in trouble. We'll just leave it at that. :)

I do think Netflix is a great idea, though. :)

Aaron's girl- the thing with Netflix is that you don't have to take out a movie, you can watch a lot of them online, movies and tv shows. It's nice that he doesn't have to worry about getting them delivered and then getting them back.
I guess there are games you can subscribe to online too.

If you moms think your boys would like a netflix account, check out Gamefly.com
There's a way to buy a 3,6, 9?, or 12 month subscription gift certificate. You can buy it so he can have one game out a month or two. Works the exact same way as Netflix but its for video games. :)
I think I'm going that route for Aaron's birthday since I bought him the new WoW as an early Christmas present. :)

My son is planning on bringing his empty seabag home with him for Christmas. I told him what he doesn't take will get taken to GoodWill. Everything is washed, folded or hanging, and waiting for his inspection. I know he will probably take many of the shirts, but all the pants are going to be way too big. I am fairly certain we will still end up storing the bowling ball and golf clubs as well as the suitcases he doesn't want to have.

CA Mom- Does he have a watch? Also those mini camcorders are great.
My son uses my netflix account too. he doesn't have T.V., which is a good thing, so he catches up on some of his shows through netflix. It's only around $10 a month.

I find it amazing how they can go through 8-9 weeks at boot camp and come out and one of the first things they pick back up is the cigarettes !!! CRAZY, I tell ya. They finally kicked the habit physically, but mentally I guess they are still a smoker.

Good for you Aaronsgirl - and good for Aaron that he finally did kick the habit.
Comment by Emily-aaronsgirl11 on December 8, 2010 at 6:18pm
hahaha. Dor, you just made my night with the bowling ball. :)
I think the coffee cup is a great idea to whoever mentioned that. They're not allowed to have their own coffee machine in their room, but each classroom has their own coffee machine. Supposedly Aaron's power school class has a frapp. machine, too. Although no one knows how to use it. :)
And you may not think your son was a coffee drinker before he left, but he probably is now!!
Aaron lived on coffee and cigarettes his first few weeks of A school. I finally nagged enough to get him to kick the cigarette habit... I think once I told him when we get married he's not smoking in or around my house or kids, he finally decided it wasn't worth getting hooked. :)

Carol, That's so funny. I did the same thing with my son's clothes. My daughter took her i-phone and kept photographing them a couple at a time and he would say either both or left one, right one. He is soooo into his clothes we knew it meant a lot to him. We also knew he bought some there. We knew after boot camp he couldn't wait to hit the shops in a new city.

Dor-- I lined up my sailor's favorite shirts on the shower rod, took a picture of them and emailed it to him. Then he told me which ones to leave behind and which ones to pack up for him. Just a thought. He too lost weight in the waist, and had to buy new civie pants.
