Our son just PIR'd on Friday and will be heading down to GC on Wednesday with many other Nukes for his division. Our son is one that did not get addicted to any games, video or stuff like that. He is an outside kind of guy and graduated with honors from high school in June. He and his fiance did well in school, they will be getting married on 22 December and she will come down as soon as she can. She has been a top 10 student since the 6th grade, so I am sure they will both do well with their schooling. She will start college once she gets there and with our son in school, they should do very well. Don't like the fact they are far from home though, just saying.

A Christmas idea - I got my son a pocket size Kodak mini video recorder. Used my own at PIR and got him one too. it is water proof and as small as a camera, takes still photos too. they can plug it right into the computer and upload little videos that they make take of their adventures, whether that is out site seeing or out on a ship or in a port. they can post videos on You Tube or I think they might be able to be attached to email, haven't tried that one yet.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear Pat. Thanks!

Julsburd, About Warcraft, not to worry!! Did you realize that ALL studying is done in the classroom building? Due to classified material, NOTHING ever leaves that building. So they don't study in their rooms. Depending on their test scores, mandatory evening and weekend study hours go up or down. Classes all day, grab dinner, mandatory evening study hours, iron uniforms for the next day and flop into bed. Not much time for WOW, is there???

Thanks Aarongirl for the great Charleston Guide. That will be very helpful. I may even print it out and send it to my son at Boot Camp so he can get fired up for his new town. I even found out that there is a golf course on base... hmmm more Christmas ideas for my golfer son!

Michimom- The blankets are wonderful! I made Aaron one and then made one for myself. One has ducky sailors on it, and the other has crabs with anchors. We decided to switch them every couple of weeks. It brings us a little closer together. Plus, we get super excited about whenever our blankets get to be together. Dorky, I know. :)

Now that I hear there are pool tables I am going to get my guy a new pool cue. We had a pool table at home until our last move and I know he misses playing. I am racking my brain trying to think of Christmas gifts for the guy who really either needs nothing or can't have it!

Another gift idea: I am making my son one of those no-sew fleece blankets--in a blue camo print. There are bound to be some chilly nights he will want to use it. Plus, it's Navy-themed without having Navy logos, in case he's feeling a little Navy-overwhelmed.

Oh Julsburd, welcome to the club. :) This is not the first time we've discussed the horrors of WoW here! haha. Although, some wives to play. No offense to those wives! I still love you guys just the same! :)
