yeah that is exactly what is going here with me and his mom but his dad is never cooperative here... he has the form letter and never give out the info... my boyfriend was a bit upset when i told him i wouldnt be able to send him letter if i didnt ask his mom to give me the address

Once you know his rate, like if he is going to be an EM, ET, or MM, then you'll know what to put next to his name. I know for two of the three it is FN, and I'm fairly sure the other one is SN. Do you know how long his A school will be? Six months or three months?

thanks aaron'sgirl!!! that helps a lot... i will need to ask for (the SN, FN, EM3, ET3, MM3 part) because i dont know what the heck is he going to be there

If he's still in boot camp, I wouldn't advise sending it yet. However, you could send it the day you get back from PIR or even right after graduation if he wants to. It would probably meet him down there then.

I know exactly what you mean about him having his stuff and communication. Aaron's mom took her sweet old time getting him his phone while I was going crazy. I was about ready to overnight the phone myself!

Sailor'sGgirl- Yes, everyone that's a Nuke and goes to School down in SC will have that address. As I said earlier, the only thing that will change is your boyfriends rate (the SN, FN, EM3, ET3, MM3 part), and the class name/number. At any point that you send the mail, it WILL get to him. The mail system down there is a little screwy in general, but it eventually gets to the sailors. If he hasn't classed up yet, the address will say "Class: Indoc", and once he classes up it will read his class number, "Class: 11##"

The Indoc address doesn't necessarily take longer. All the mail goes to the SAME place: 101 NNPTC Circle. There, it is sorted by class. Now, if you mail it to Class: Indoc, it may take an extra day or two for the Mail POs to figure out that it's sitting in the wrong pile. HOWEVER, if your boyfriend knows to be looking for a package, he can bother his Mail PO about possibly finding the package for him, or he can go to the mail place and ask them to find it for him.

The Navy's mail system in general is pretty good. They are generally really good at relocating mail when it is sent to an "outdated" address.

he is not done in boot camp he is still have 3 weeks and i am trying to get as much info as i need for him to have his stuff and have a communication with me as soon as possible
Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on November 12, 2010 at 9:42pm
sailor'sgirl - I don't know. My son just said to wait until he gets his class number because then his mail would get to him faster, and if I send it too soon then it could get lost in transition for a while.
If they aren't classing up right away, I guess it goes to the Class:Indocrination address.

so anybody that goes to South carolina for A school will have that address? how long can they get the package if i send my boyfriend's stuff in that address
Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on November 12, 2010 at 9:29pm
thanks Josie. Looks like we were at PIR together last Friday. Can't believe it's been a whole week since then. Wow.
My son said he classes up on Monday, meaning he gets an actual class number, so his mail will find him easier once we get that number. For those not classing up yet, their mail still goes to the indocrination place.

Sounds like they have the weekend off, and a lot of time off over Thanksgiving. This is such a vacation after just finishing boot camp, right?
