Hi Connie, I am one of the Blessed Moms. I only live 3 hours and 20 minutes from GC. I will be taking my son his laptop and phone in person.

Hi Vincent'sMom, Ginny, and deemedic, so glad to have you on this site as buddies, thru Goose Creek and who knows, maybe beyond. My name is Connie, by the way. So have we decided what's the best way to ship our sons' laptops, phone, ipod, etc? Overnight postal or UPS?

Hi all, Just spoke with my son this morning. He is at the airport and is flying out in about 30 minutes to GC. I'm not sure why some is leaving today, and some is leaving tomorrow. He said he thought that most of them were flying out today. He said there were more than a dozen flying with him today. I didn't know your sailors names, so I couldn't ask him if they were with him.

Josie - Maybe your nuke could ask his RDC or you could ask his recruiter? I'm not sure what the procedure is. I know during BC they said that recruits wouldn't be allowed to leave for funeral of extended relations but since he is finishing BC before and will essentially be waiting for his A school class for form up, there may be an exception.

send me an email and I will forward your name and email address to the one seeking IO and SC people. I will put together a list of the other places I use and send it to anyone who wants it. I shop for about 6 different companies that each do different types of shops--some are up scale and pay little or nothing but reimburse the cost of a good meal, others reimburse plus pay a fee also. Some can set you up doing product demos and such. I did merchandising for another company while Bink was in HS to pay his tuition. Some people can actually make a pretty good career out of this but it could never touch what I make in my real job so it has been my emergency fund/going out on occassion fund. Anyway, my work address is deanna.deneen@jefferson.kyschools.us. I'll ship addresses to you asap.

Bereavement Question:

My Ex-husband's sister died and he was wondering if there is a chance he will be allowed to attend the funeral which is scheduled the Monday after PIR. My Nuke tells us he is leaving for A school on Sunday after PIR.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this between BC and A school? The Ex called the Red Cross and they do not get involved for aunts and uncles.

Thanks ..... Josie
