While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Kris, Stevens mom on April 27, 2010 at 5:07pm: in 2009 they had 12/18/09 thru approx 01/03/10 off at Christmas, i think most sailors went home, alot of them had to "borrow" time off from 2010 is my understanding.

He did tell me some bad news apparently he had his wallet stolen over the weekend. Of course all his ids, etc were in it. He said he was the 2nd one in power school that started in March who'd had that happen.

Comment by Chris on April 23, 2010 at 10:03am: Today is my son's last day in NY. He will be going on leave until he has to report to Newport RI for NSI in May. He'll be moving back to Charleston SC in late July.
Nuke life has been very good for him. The slings and arrows of vicarious living!

Galway, NY is a wide spot in the road IRRC----rural. Route 29 is a well traveled two lane hwy. It should be quiet, lest the deer make too much noise.
