While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by EMC (SS) on April 22, 2010 at 7:03am: Tell him to contact the Fleet and Family Support Center up there for information about the area. He can look up the number on Military One Source website or the FFSC website in the future but the number for NY is 518-886-0200.
When I was up there 9 years ago the whole area was quite nice and you really had to get out to one of the major cities to have any real issues. The biggest problem in the area was in Saratoga Springs with DUIs as there is a college there and a strip of bars.

Comment by EMC (SS) on April 21, 2010 at 10:26pm: If he is married, living in housing and going to NY prototype with this transfer then he will have to move out of housing with whatever plan he arranged with the housing office. Generally they have to give 30 days notice for their plan.
If he is going to SC prototype and is married and living in housing then he won't have to move at all.
If he is single and transferring to either prototype with this class then we recommend that he moves out of the BEQ the night before as it will make his graduation day easier. However they are required to be checked out of their BEQ room no later then 1200 on graduation Friday.

Comment by suzanne on April 21, 2010 at 10:14pm: Can anyone please clarify-my son is graduating power school may 14th, and I believe he told me he needs to be out of base housing the day before graduation. Is this the process?

Comment by EMC (SS) on April 21, 2010 at 11:12am: Sorry, I do know the graduation dates out to about 5 years from now, but they are not public information. The standard process if that we send out graduation invitations around week 18-19 (24 week long school) that gives out all the information that you could want about local hotels, times and dates.
After that in order to get in your Sailor needs to add everyone attending, over the age of 8, to the security access list to get onto the installation. So please, don't surprise them at graduation as the surprise will be you can't get in. It takes 24 hours minimum to get someone added to the list (for grad we normally cut off changes the Friday of the week before to complete the process).
