Jennifer,
They have everything they need. Wants are another thing. The only item my son wanted was better sheets (they only get flat sheets, no fitted) and he likes the higher thread count like at home. (Sheets need to be twin XL) Color doesn't matter. My son didn't want towels etc but a TV was something he wanted (his roommate got one) and cable/internet service (he splits cost with roommate).

Hello everyone, my son heads off to nuke school after PIR on 3/19. I have read all of this information and am grateful for it. My question is this, do the sheets and comforters have to be a certain color or can it be anything they choose? Also what about towels? Is it like furnishing a dorm room? I mean lamps, clocks, tv's? I am so new to this I appreciate any info I can get.

Hi Everyone: I am home safe and sound from our visit with Dan's oldest brother in Phoenix. Wonderful trip for G'ma and G'pa to see where he is and how very happy they are. I flew into Reno Friday night to work the church event at the South Reno church yesterday - and made it home last night. It is GOOD to be home.
I will be volunteering for the DA's office for the next six weeks (covering for the receptionist who is on maternity leave). Hopefully in their next budget I can have a job via a temp agency. So, I'm here - just getting back into the 'work force' routine. I hope that you are all well and your sailor's are wonderful.
I had the chance to give an Army guy a 'Mom Hug' at the airport. He was very cute - and his mom like me was teary. Hope to hear how all of you are. We had snow last week while I was gone (glad I missed it). Spring sure is hear - my daffodills were smiling at me when I came home.

Thank you, Debbie! I wanted to mention to anyone considering a visit who wanted to stay at Foster Creek Villas...I called and was told reservations are generally made 3 months in advance to stay there. However, I hear it's a really neat place to stay.

Sharon, welcome aboard. Remember that if he goes to the Academy or ROTC, he can still become a Nuke. Its a great career path any way he goes.

Hello Ladies, I am pretty new to this site and learning my way around. My son, Kyle aka Diego, is a 17 yr. old high school senior. He has "enlisted" as of 06 January and taken the test for Nuke and now has a "Nuke" seat. He also has two other avenues in which he is waiting to hear about. He is awaiting word to see if he receives an ROTC Scholarship or an appointment to the USNA. We are very supportive of him entering into the Navy. He will do very well no matter which avenue gets him where he wants to go. I am glad to be aboard and look forward to getting to know you.
