Chris - he is there right now trying to get on a flight. he actually landed 10 min after his connecting took off!!!

he is booked on an 8p tonight - but was trying to get on a noon flight. if he didn't get that he was going to try a 3p that looked like it still had some openings. if he doesn't get out until the 8p flight, he will be getting in about the same time as my husband who is coming in from Los Angelos tonight.

Well, just checked. Spence is still in the air, and his connecting flight WAS delayed, but just left. So now I will have to wait until he lands in Chicago to find out when he will get on another flight.

Chris - he is on a United flight. Last time I checked it was running on time, but I will check again. Technically he is landing about 10 min before his connecting leaves, but that involves alot of people talking to each other to let them know he is coming and to hold the plane!!!
Comment by Trina (Spencer's Mom) on December 20, 2008 at 11:35am
Karalyn - they are different time zones, but only an hr. Even if the time difference comes into play, he will be landing when his connecting flight is taking off.

I am so glad your son made it home!!!

Ok people, start the prayers - the 8a flight Spence was supposed to be on this morning - didn't actually leave until 10a!!!! He was supposed to have a connecting in Chicago at 10:30 - everyone do the math - NY to Chicago in 30 min??

So he isn't even due to land in Chicago until 11:30, which means he has to again get rebooked onto a different flight. AND it has started snowing here!!! And it isn't going to be good - getting worse throughout the day. Between the winds and the snow they are talking blizzard like conditions.

So, let's pray that United has an angel of a customer service rep like jetblue to get my son home!!!!

Spence leaves at 8a tomorrow and will be here by noon if all goes well. Crossing fingers and praying!!!!!!!

Got it to work on my phone!!!! Spence didn't make it out of ny after all - after leaving them sit on the plane for over an hour to get off the plane and then cancelled it. So now he is rebooked for 8a tomorrow.

Regarding the ballston spa question - no one is being sent to ny so there is no way to determine if you will go or not. Too many probs going on up there. But if they ever let anyone go there again it is a matter of requesting it.

I hope everyone elses kids are getting home. I saw some others had their flights cancelled as well.

Hi Everyone, Just got a call that my nuke and his 2 friends are in Tennessee. They got to leave Goose Creek early and are headed for home in Chicago. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE!! They should be here 1-2 AM.

Trina - The snow has stopped in Chicago and flights out of O'Hare are running 45 min behind schedule.
Comment by Trina (Spencer's Mom) on December 19, 2008 at 5:59pm
Ok - here is where things stand right now - Spencer's 6:40p flight got cancelled out of Albany. But he was already on standby for a 4:45p leaving. He got on that one!!!!!! So he is on the plane, flying out of NY to Chicago!!!! So we will see what happens then.

Unfortunately his friend/roommate had his flight cancelled, and can't get out until tomorrow morning - he is very upset.

So, as of right now, Spence is on his way to Chicago. I would like to keep everyone updated, but am leaving to go to Mall of America, and will be down there most of the night. And my phone does not allow me to sign into this site to be able to respond to posts. So if you want an update, shoot me your email address and then I can send emails out to let you know where things stand. I also have a blackberry, so can do instant messaging, but would have to set that up, so email might work easier. So if you want updates, you can wait until some time later tonight, or put your email addy in a response.

Talk later!!!
Trina
