For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Here’s the current ombudsman phone number. 843.323.9159. There are currently 3 ombudsmen - Afton, Jolie and Stacy. It does say if you don’t leave a voice mail they will NOT call you back. You can also email them at: nptuombudsman@gmail.com

Comment by Chipmunk on February 19, 2020 at 4:59pm: haoo168 - B'sNukeMom or someone else might have a better answer for you, but I do think you are able to contact NNPTC and at least give them a message that you are inquiring about your sailor and they are not responding to your texts messages and you are just making sure they are safe and sound. I doubt they will give you much information, since he is an adult, but they might pass the message along.

I do know that my son told me they regularly remind the sailors to call home, because they don't like answering the phone calls of upset mothers and other family members who do not hear from their sailors.

We actually have sunshine here in NJ today, and I am loving it since most days have been overcast, recently. It's still too cold for me, here, but these types of sunny days remind me that Spring is on the way! :)

Comment by Chipmunk on February 17, 2020 at 8:49pm: Velvetenor - Glad your sailor is getting his UI's done, he will definitely be glad he did when it is the week or so before comps and he know he does not have to squeeze that in as well.!

I have been busy all day today and more tomorrow, so not likely on, glad all are doing well.

Jen - I can not recall, my son left the end of June for BC and I don't remember if we were able to claim him because it had been 6 months or not (as he was still in high school through May.) . But also, there is something that changes with tax credits once they turn 17, I think, so I don't know that we were even able to claim him.

It is best to at least ask for some help, or research it yourself.
