helena2000 - Glad to hear that your son's pkg from home arrived in GC without a hitch. Phone communication is wonderful again!

My son got his box of things from me yesterday and I got to call him for the first time since end of April when he went to GL. It was awesome! He had called me a few times before with a calling card or borrowing someone's phone, but now I can text or call him and he can start managing his own finances again. He gets to take it easy over the long weekend, a much needed rest.

Kerriknowz - I hope you find someone to make the drive with you to GC. I can empathize, I took my youngest son out to A school graduation and the drive home at the end was the hardest part. We took our time though and saw some wonderful country and other sites as well.

MamaKatie - I think the last time we started an open discussion here about PS, Prototype and things getting moved around, B'sNukeMom said we should not due to OPSEC. Feel free to send me a friend request and I can send you a PM.

This is one of those times when you have to trust your sailor and listen to what he says, even if your Mom radar wants to whirl in lots of different directions. Part of our learning curve on N4Ms is remembering that only our sailor can sometimes be the one to give us the information that we need to know and it is for our ears and eyes only.  He can give you the best information so give him a call today, it is a holiday, and be open and honest about your concerns.

Hey ladies just have a question about A school graduation. So my son went to Goose Creek in January and I thought he’d be graduating soon. There was something about a hold because of closures in power school?? I dont know ....And he may not be graduating until October. Does this mean he’s struggling? Ugh he says no but moms know their kids! He doesn’t want me to worry I’m thinking but it just didn’t seem right! Any ideas?

CSW - Hopefully, he will be able to catch some glimpses of the fireworks there on base! It sounds like sticking close to duty station for watch is a wise idea.

I need to share with my sailor what I found out about fireworks in his area, but it has been a busy two days for me, building bookshelves, dealing with damaged goods, and then a 4 hour round trip to pick my youngest up from his 2nd to the last camp of the summer. He heads back out Friday morning, so laundry it is tomorrow!

Comment by CSW on July 2, 2019 at 1:58pm

No response on fireworks, but I figure my sailor will figure it out.

He says you need to pick one because getting back on base if your're off or off if you're on will take a couple of hours after the fireworks are done.

I think he'll probably stay on base because he has watch so he can't chance getting caught in traffic.
