Oh NickSydmom - that is a tough one!! I agree though, they are both wonderful places to visit. Maybe we can plan a rendezvous in VA sometime.

My guy is headed for Virginia and my daughter the hospital corpsman is in San Diego. You can’t get any farther apart and still be in the USA. Nick had San Diego for first choice, but needs of Navy come first, we all know that one. He’s would have liked to be by his sister but is still happy with his second choice. I’m the sad one I wanted to be able to see both kids with one plane ride, at least they both have really nice places with beautiful weather and lots of fun things to do on days off.

Hi all - Happy Thursday!

NickSydMom - glad you made it to proto grad!  I just love Ballston Spa - beautiful area.  Where does your son have orders for?

WonderGeekWoman - feel free to stick around if you want.  You might be able to provide info for others in the process of re-rating.  Either way, I'll see you in the Empty Nester's group!

It's almost Friday!!!!!

B’sNukeMoM - the baby meme is hilarious! Thank you for the laugh.

SuzyQ and NickSydmom - congrats to both of your sailors on graduating

Leah - we took the shuttle at PIR but like Chipmunk said things change pretty quick.

Comment by Chipmunk on April 24, 2019 at 11:30pm

Leah- we had plans to get a shuttle to PIR, signed up for it and then the next day our name wasn't on the list. We went ahead and drove, and were able to get right in and parked in the parking garage. As it turned out, our son was delayed being able to leave RTC, so it was a good thing that we didn't actually leave and we had our car there.

So, have Plan A, then Plan B, and then the Plan that finally happens, because you just really may not know how to plan!! All expectations of what was to happen went out the door at my son's PIR, and this mom finally grew up a little and did a lot more bending instead of breaking!

WonderGeekWoman - thanks for sharing your news. I will be keeping in touch.

NickSydmom - So glad to hear that you had beautiful weather and a wonderful graduation!!  We are in about the same situation with my son, trying to get all the checkouts done along with being assigned to a 12 hour work day!! Looking forward to seeing him home soon.
