For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son asked us to bring a couple of his sweatshirts and his swim trunks from home. Any other civilian clothes he preferred to buy himself at the NEX. Others on this site have mentioned blankets and sheets. Care packages with favorite snacks and such are definitely ok, and usually very welcome!

Is there anything I can get him that he'll need for when he arrives that will be helpful? I know they're limited with what they can bring or take, but I wasn't sure if I can be helpful in any way. Can they receive care packages while there? Thank you⚓️

MomofJoseph - Thank you for the update for Prototype graduation. When my son had his, there were only two ceremonies, so having three is a lot of juggling.

I have had computer issues this weekend and I am hoping that I finally have a new, working computer, but I still have some things to check out on it. But I am glad to know that I can still get logged into N4M!
