B'sNuke, thanks so much for thinking of us. The midwest is hurting. In NE we have $440 million in crop losses and $400 million in livestock. 3 people have died. Iowa has also been badly hit. My family has stayed dry. My SIL did a lot of sandbagging at the nuclear plant but it stayed up and running. Many roads were closed so getting around outside of town is problematic and I have not seen my babies for a couple weeks. I hope to see them Sunday as more of our roads open up.

I am enjoying the happy news you all are sharing. Keep it coming! I'm reading them all, just haven't had the heart to do much posting. #NavyMomsRock

bigsky - I like that - "dine & dash"!  Enjoy ;-D

Fun this week - I'm expecting a "dine and dash" visit from my Nuke......on his two off days he's going to zip down here, sleep a little, get some work done on his tattoo, have dinner with us, then zip back. 4 hours each way, not too bad....I used to have energy like that lol :)

Welcome to our newest member ~ nukemomma!  I see that your son is already through the pipeline and in the fleet.  And you live in Charleston!  Feel free to jump right in.

Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

Socalfiregal - we are neighbors!  I'm in Riverside ;-D  And yes, you do have a busy week planned!  How did your little nephew like Disneyland?  If you ever come down the mountain and get to Riverside let me know - we can meet up.  Today is Taco Tuesday so I'm looking forward to that for dinner tonight lol!  Otherwise I have a pretty boring week too.  Softball later in the week (I don't play, I just manage the team lol!) and a track meet on Saturday (I don't run I just cheer on the athletes lol!).

ProudOfK - good luck with the unpacking of boxes!  Not the most exciting thing to do, but you'll sure feel better when it's done ;-D

NancyJo - how are things going in your area?  Are they making any headway with the flooding?  How's the grand littles doing?

Comment by ProudOfK on March 26, 2019 at 8:37am
Wow Socalfiregal it made me tired just reading your post. I would say I have a pretty boring week going compared to yours. I am excited I have a kitchen cabinet/cart coming. Once that is here and a corner china cabinet I've ordered I should finally be able to finish unpacking boxes from our move a year ago and finally be able to get the car in the garage.

In response to having anything fun planned this week, I took my little nephew to Disneyland for his first time, and I have family from Hawaii coming to play in the snow on my mountain, then have Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue emergent vehile course driving Saturday. AND school is starting, on top of work.... and lots of letter writing :)

Welcome to our newest members ~ MikeOscarMike and ILsubmom!  Please be sure to read the ***NEW MEMBERS*** info at the top of the page.  The Rating Information Card for NF is especially helpful.  Also, take a look at the Pages (17) to the right under the Member Profiles.  Lots of good info there.  And of course, feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Happy Monday!

NonnaB - lucky you with the extended visit and that's so sweet that your nuke is eager to help out with chores!  That's a fine young man you have there ;-D  I"m sure no matter how long the list is he'll do his best to get everything done!

Eaglemom - good to hear that SOBC is going well for your nuke.  And nice that he's been able to communicate a little more.  I'm sure you are looking forward to the visit - enjoy!

SubMom - small world indeed.  I'll bet he's got lots of stories lol!

Anyone have anything exciting planned for this week?

Comment by SubMom on March 25, 2019 at 8:06am

I was talking to a co-worker about my son and he reminded me that his brother had been in the Nuke program. It turns out his brother was part of the USS Carl Vinson crew when it was being built. What as small world!
