Hi Carla - I just got a quote from agape transport - riverside to goose creek $1095. I got another quote from DAS transport for $1006. Another family on here had used agape before and was happy with them. I still want to get one more quote. Sailor asked me to check with Worldwide transport.

Hello Carla, and welcome. Where in California are you? I'm Ca too, SFBA . My sailor is heading for ET, and started A school classes in June.

Oh Carla you made me laugh.

My son has been in class I think three weeks? he went to GC April 23rd.

He also is in a all fired hurry to get his car, I told him wither ship it or wait till Christmas and drive it back. Anyway someone gave me some info . Here is a link to try------------
Friends,

Here's the link to the reviews for the transport company that was used by Andrea, a Sailor now stationed in San Diego. She had her car transported from Washington state to Norfolk, Virginia.  It was Door to Door Transport and they charged her $895.  Most of the other companies were quoting over $1,000.  They got a rating of 5 stars out of 5 stars.  She is very meticulous, researching this online.

http://www.transportreviews.com/Company/door-to-door-transport.asp

She also added that once your Sailor receives his/her vehicle, the Navy will pay for it to be moved or actually pay your Sailor per diem to drive the car to their next command.  She drove her car from Norfolk to San Diego.  Her car is insured with USAA and there is a Storage rate where if the car is not being used during Boot Camp, A school or any duty where they don't need their car, they will change the rate to the storage one.  She went from $125 to $26.  She thought State Farm did the same thing.

hello all,

i'm a newbie Nuke mom.  I believe my son starts classes this coming Monday.

I knew that when i saw the comments on here earlier i should have taken notes but of course i didn't and now my son wants to have his car shipped from California to Goose Creek.  Does anyone know of any companies that have been used and we were happy with the results?  He's looking on his own but he's not that smart, he's only a NUKE you know!
