For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

He alluded to the fact that nukes had extra paperwork--perhaps some additional medical tests and forms. But other than that, he was with recruits of every possible post-boot camp rating.

Comment by goliathmacdog on October 10, 2012 at 12:04pm: Hello. My Son arrived in BS for prototype 2 weeks ago. The move went pretty smooth and even got some time to come home for a few days as well:). Can't wait to visit there, but will miss those visits to Charleston...truly LOVED that place.

Free breakfast with eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, cold cereals, fruit, bagels, muffins and breads. All day coffee and tea bar. It's also close to a ton of other restaurants and shopping. CLEAN, large rooms with separate sitting area. They also give the Military Rate whether or not your sailor is staying with you. Central location. I don't think we drove more than 10-20 minutes to anywhere we wanted to go.

Comment by Robin - Nuke ET on October 10, 2012 at 9:27am: The Holiday Inn Express, just off I-26 in North Charleston is our favorite. About 5-10 minutes from base, clean and they give you the military rate even if your sailor is not staying with you. The mattress and pillows are amazing. I sleep like a baby -- not sure if it's because of the room or seeing our son!!

My sailor stayed with me for a couple of nights too. I've also stayed at the Villas--they were great! Full kitchen, full laundry. We got lucky and got one of the last 3 available for PS grad 11/9. They do indeed fil up quickly.
