We had an unexpected surprise for Thanksgiving but for OPSEC reasons I can't share any details. I would love to tell you all about it. Someday!

As I watched my sailor walk away I said to my husband. "He is still my little boy." I wish I could share with my friends on N4M's. My husband said " you know there wouldn't be a navy if it wasn't for their Mom's."

So here is to all the Mom's out there that gave birth to the sailors of the USN!

Dor, you are a very strong woman.  We just don't know what God has in store for us, but we do know that He will give us the strength to go with the situtation.  Your family is in my prayers.

At least now he's had the surgery, so we move forward.  Not much we can do about what wasn't done right.

J's mom, I am not sure what the dr. thinks the outcome will be, but he said this is a very common injury that he does surgeries for almost every day, and a couple of them a day even.  he said 6-12 months before he could run again, which we just won't know until he starts doing therapy and works through all of that.  Hopefully he is healing properly and it will all go very well.  Yes, it is disheartening that he didn't get the proper tests done early on.  I remember they told him that therapy would help strengthen the muscles in the ankle so that it would help support hings better.  Well, if there is a severed tendon you can strengthen muscles all you want, but you still haven't fixed the problem.  Just wish they'd have MRI'd it back in March or April rather than waiting until he rolled his ankle and swelled up again in August.  he was under the impression that before that happened they really didn't believe him.

Emily, wasn't Garden of the Gods spectacular!!? I saw my first real live rattlesnake there (photo op, haha) ... was there any snow while you were there?

Boy, don't check in for a couple of days and look at all the discussion!  Prayers are with you Dor, I am only missing one of three and it's hard enough!  Got to talk to Addison Thanksgiving Day.  He and some others decided to make it simple and his turkey came from Subway.  I promised him I'd make up for it when he gets to come home at Christmas.  This may be the last holiday when I'll have all three at home.  Daniel is leaving in January to head to Orlando for a Disney Internship/College program so only my baby (she's 17) will be at home.  I see a lot of road trips in our future, maybe meeting for long weekends in Atlanta.  Addison says he will be assigned a class this week, so he'll be hitting the books big time.  Hope everyone as a blessed and wonderful holiday season!

Arrived in DC today after 3 days of train travel.  I loved the trip by train, it went by much too fast.  Anyway, I'm here for 4 days before heading to GC.  Never been here before so I'm going to see as much as a can.

Dor, I don't know how you stay so strong.  Your situation reminds me of a movie based on a true story, I can't remember the name of the movie now, I'll let you know if I think of it.
