While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Debbie - glad you saw him last weekend. I know what you mean about the kids being together. A few years ago middle daughter could not come home, so we sent youngest to her!

This looks simple to me:

it's made from construction paper for the ring part and tissue paper for the leaves. Directions:

What you'll need:

Green construction paper
Scissors
Tissue paper: yellow, orange and burgundy
White craft glue
Pencil with an eraser

How to make it:

Cut construction paper vertically in strips about 1.5” wide. Each strip will yield two napkin holders.
Cut each strip in half to get 2 napkin holders.
Cut tissue paper into 1” squares.
Cover a 1” section of the construction paper strip with white craft glue.
Twist a square of yellow tissue paper around the pencil eraser and push down onto the glue. Remove pencil, leaving the tissue paper on the construction paper.
Repeat step number 5 with tissue paper, alternating orange and burgundy for every 2-3 yellow.
Cover entire strip of construction paper, leaving only ½” at the end without tissue paper.
Bend into a “ring” and glue together.
Let dry completely then carefully insert a napkin.

Our middle daughter will also be home, as well as her boyfriend. We will all try to keep my grandkids happy. Their mother left them 4 years ago and their father moved away Labor Day weekend so this is their first holiday with neither parent there. They have been assigned to help cook (the are 7 and 9) and make rice krispy treat turkeys. Any other ideas for distractions are welcome.

This is the couple that are both nuclear engineers (he's a nuke veteran) and they need a high level processor, like an I6 or something, that will enable to do the functions they do when they work at home. When all is said and done it nears $1,000. Gramma is crying in her soup.

Comment by MomofNuke on November 22, 2011 at 1:07pm: Being that I have an empty nest & don't have living family other than my kids I am going to be traveling during the holiday season this year. I'm excited to see my SR who I haven't seen in more than a year & seeing DC, SC, NC, New Orleans, & whatever else I can fit in. I've never been to that part of the country so I'm looking forward to seeing this great country. I'll return early Christmas Day & take my two other sons (who are autistic) out to eat or buy a whole Christmas meal. This will be the first year I have not cooked a Turkey. I still have leftovers from last year in my freezer (I think its time to toss out).
