congrats everyone...nvmomma it makes me really scared when I look in my rear view mirror and I see someone texting.  That happened on the highway in Goose Creek with a young southern belle and we were in traffic for 45 minutes.  Needless to say I was scared the whole time!

A heads up on SC weather for those attending graduations this friday...yesterday and today the "temperature" was in the low 90s. HOWEVER...the heat index was about 113!! I heard it on the radio while I was driving home from work. I am very close to GC so my weather is usually the same as theirs. Dress appropriately (light clothes, few layers haha) maybe take an umbrella for the sun and plenty of sunscreen. They have been warning us on the local channels to stay inside this week. I hope I don't freak anyone out. At 9am it won't be horrible but just make sure you are prepared for a hot weekend. And there is always a chance of rain. the Last week we have had 30% chance everyday and it only rained Saturday. Safe Travels all!!

Go ahead and brag!  I'm jealous, but I'm happy that my son is somewhere in the top third.  Last I asked, he wasn't sure, but at least he thinks that's where he falls.  Considering that he wasn't too interested in high school, I am not complaining at all.

Michimom - I will be there on Friday and I hope to meet you.  My son is #1 in the class so you'll likely see him up on the podium - I know, I'm bragging, but it feels so good!!

Yay!  He passed!  (Of course. Knew he would.)  He said he got a 3.32.  I suppose it could have been higher, but he's happy with it, so I am, too.  :)

And in other happy news, we got a new minivan today.  It's been nine years since we last bought a car, so it's been a while.  And yes, we just bought him his car over the weekend, so that's two new (well, one brand new and one used) vehicles in our driveway.  Whoa.  Now we need his money for his car sooner than later.  LOL  Will have a much more comfortable ride down to SC for graduation.

My password situation is getting ridiculous - going to try Password Safe - thanks texasmom!

It is illegal to text while driving in CA, makes me so mad if they do it in front of me - scares me to death.

kate, so glad he's back in range, hope you hear from him soon.

Rotary phones = no N4Ms... :(

waiting anxiously to hear comp results for all your sailors in 1103, don't forget to post the news!

Mary- On Wednesday they have to go in like normal (a little bit later, I think for Aaron it was 8), and they have to turn in all their books, burn all their notes/homework, and clean the classroom. It can be a bit of a long day... I know Aaron had to ask for permission to leave early in order to pick me up at the airport at 3:30. The guys didn't get out of there until almost 5! Then on Thursday they had grad. practice in the morning, but they were done by eleven (the more the guys cooperate, the fast they're done). Aaron had to move out, but if your son is going on grad hold for awhile, he probably won't have to do that right away. He'd be free to do as he pleases if he doesn't have to be out of his room before Friday am. :)

And Nicole- the weather is GORGEOUS. Jeans and short sleeve weather. We went to the beach last Thanksgiving and it was 80 out. :)

Hi!  Congrats to everyone!  I haven't logged in recently and wow!  I can't believe that my son is about to grad from A school.  He has less than two weeks to go.  It is great to see how much they grow.  My son has grown to love the Navy, at least Nuke school.  I am so happy that he has developed hopefully lifelong friends with some of his fellow classmates.  Such a turn around from boot camp.

A suggestion for password management.  I use a free program called "Password Safe" to manage my passwords.  It stores the passwords on the computer or you can run it from a thumbdrive.  This program was recommended by the instructor of a very high level security computer/network class I took a couple of years ago.  It is easy to use and stores the information encrypted.  It also can store other information like security questions and websites.  I set it up for my parents over the summer and even my computer challenged mother uses it now.  It can be downloaded from many sites but downloads.cnet.com is one of the safer sites to download from.
