For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I think the invitation said casual or informal dress or something like that, but I think a sundress will be cool and comfortable. (And, since it's black and white, it'll look good in pictures next to those dress whites.) Say some prayers for those who have comps tomorrow--my son and his classmates!

I'll have to ask my son if he'd like the Kool Aid Fizzes. He did ask us to bring some Faygo Rock & Rye when we come for graduation. Can't get it in SC. You Michiganders will know the stuff!

javajo- What Dor said. A nice sundress or whatever is comfortable. :)

Dodie- If he's in power school (and they do the same break from year to year), the break will most likely start at 4pm on the 16th of December and they'll start class on the 2nd. Most of the guys had to report back to base on the 1st by Noon.

This Friday is my son's power school grad and I'm wondering for those that have already been to this graduation how ya'll dressed for it? It is going to be around 90 and know I'll need to dress in cool clothes. Ideas anyone?? Thanks!!

Sean is also an over achiever... and I (and i think he) are both trying to take things slow and be very guarded in this delicate balance of the Navy and life. wish me luck as we take it one day at a time :)

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on August 8, 2011 at 5:39pm: I also include, in care packages, chewable vitamin C, a bug bite stick, a new toothbrush and toothpaste, good razors and refills when they are on sale and I have a coupon, cups of Chili, Easy Mac cups, and other microwavable dinners that they can just keep on hand in case they miss chow time, which my son misses a lot with his therapy appointments. Like Connie said, I know he can go buy them, but it makes me feel good to send him a few things every now and then, but I really don't do it too often. Mine also wanted tea because he said the coffee is really getting to him from drinking so much, so he has been laying off the coffee and he doesn't hardly drink soda at all. He likes vitamin water, powerade, etc.
