For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

He said that no, he wouldn't need one and did not get a passport. I disagreed, but, hey, I'm just mom--what do I know? I'm still going to bug him to get a passport, but I guess he'll still think mom doesn't know best. ;)

Great news so far on tests! Say some prayers for my son, who is in last weeks of power school and busy with his nose to the grindstone. He did well on a test last week, so so far, so good.

quiltblue - my son told me that they need an updated passport in case they need to travel home for an emergency. They would need it in a foreign civilian airport I believe. That info was provided before he left for BC, so not sure how accurate it is.

The front wasn't dry so i havent done the back yet. I just thought it turned out pretty well:)

Congratulations Sherry on your son passing the 100% with 3.4! What is the 100%?

For those with loved ones who are deployed or leaving for deployment, my heart goes out to you. It must be really hard waiting to hear from them & waiting to see them again. I certainly am not looking forward to the time my son is deployed which won't be awhile since he must finish Power School & then Prototype.

Comment by Andi6109 on July 25, 2011 at 9:16pm: William - My bf thought the briefing' after A school comp were boring too but he was just so happy to be finished with classes...he didnt have to "learn" anything or study for a test, and he enjoyed being done early each day as well. He said those briefing's were mainly just to warn them about things that could happen on leave and to remind them that even though they are on leave they still need to act like "upstanding citizens" since for most people this is their first time away from anything military since they left for BC
