While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Take this for what it's worth. Some people in our PIR group learned the hard way these sites are monitored. You should be careful what you post. I'd even consider removing the post. Good luck to you, your son and his wife.

We picked him up at the small NEX and headed to Meeting Street in Charleston. We had a great time walking around and seeing the sights. Best of all was spending time with our confident young sailor. He is looking forward to classes starting on Tuesday.

Today we will be enjoying a yard-ful of young adults he has invited over for a pool party. Seemed like the thing to do since he wants to see his friends, we want to see him, and it's 86 and sunny outside. Bring out the sunscreen.

If he would have been thrown in jail his Nuke status would definitely be hanging in the balance (and probably would have been revoked).
And probably best to let his recruiter know what happened so he can fill out appropriate paperwork if necessary... If paperwork isn't filed on certain things, it can be grounds for dismissal when they find out.

Comment by NavyMomLG on July 2, 2011 at 9:31pm: Greetings all from GC. My girls and I arrived in one piece around 1:00 this afternoon. Went straight to the base to get my son. Had a great time walking around Market Street and the surrounding area. Then came back to the hotel and just hung out by the pool. Sure is good to see him, it's been over six months!
