Thank you Colleen-it sure does. I will bank on one week and ope I do not have to pay a change fee.  These tickets can quickly get expensive for these sailors

Hello-I am not a very active mom here but have run into a dilemma I hope someone can help me with. My son graduates A-school April 22nd.  I am trying to get a ticket home (Alaska) done. The tickets are doable if we get it done now But-here is my dilemma.  I do not know how long of a leave they get. For some reason I thought I read two weeks somewhere. Can anyone help, please

Murphy's Law: My husband is down in GC visiting with our son until Wednesday, I told him enjoy your 5 days together, I'll be fine on the farm by myself. He's gone just 5 hours and the well pump died! No water with all of these horses to care for. Plumbing company says will have it fixed Tuesday (ordering parts) so meanwhile, 1/4 mile of hoses from the neighbor's, and lots of buckets. So much for my fantasy of having 5 peaceful days alone! Guess there won't be any bubble baths with candles and a magazine, sigh.

You're welcome. mommajo.  I'm sure that your Sailor's time to graduate will come soon!

Our son is at home now and he's a little bit antsy.  I think he's so used to being on the go and so busy that he doesn't quite know what to do!  He's visited a few friends already and at the moment he's taken his little sister to the mall.

I've taken my rightful place...in the kitchen.  I asked him what he would like for dinner and he said, "Pasta".  So, I'm making Chicken Alfredo with salad and garlic rolls and for dessert he asked for brownies.  So that's what I'm doing now.  His dad took the day off tomorrow and they have plans...bowling, I think.  So, hopefully he will be able to relax and enjoy his leave.

Well, I'm off to the kitchen again.  I'm trying to hide the fact to everyone that I'm exhausted and can't wait to go to bed tonight!!  : )

Thanks!  I'd love to have him back with the family after graduation :)  I realize I'm jumping the gun; he still has a lot to learn and many test to take.  Just nice to know as much as possible.

Oops, sorry for the misspelling.  "Their desitination", not "they're destination"!  I'm still tired!!  : )

All I know is that it was a very good and wonderful day all the way around!  Hopefully everyone will travel safely this weekend and as always, we will pray for their safe return to Charleston or wherever they're next destination is.  : )

I think Sherry is right the tradition is that they must pass power school and be of age.  It's not just the officers. But following graduation some Sailors were going to go sight seeing with their families, some back to the hotel with their families and some who did not have family present for graduation were leaving to go home to visit them and some did not choose to take  leave at this time.  Lots of different things.
